craftly july 2015 box
Craftly is a new lifestyle subscription box that features high quality products and handcrafted goods from independent artists, small businesses, and mid-to-large scale brands. Every month, subscribers receive a surprise box of samples, full-sized items, and exclusive offers curated by Cathy Diep and Adam Montoya. The curators of this box describe themselves as gaming content creators. They have massive fan bases! I think it’s interesting and unique that they’ve chosen to do an artisan-focused subscription box and was pleasantly surprised to find this in the mail today.

It says “Each day is your opportunity to make a change.” There’s also a contest to fill it out, share, and tag it.

The information card.  They skipped putting the shipping prices on the card (which I rather liked). Craftly didn’t place a value on the information card this month either – which I think was the right way to go (especially seeing as mine was water damaged – and it’s not something I’d frame with the writing on the bottom). It’s incredibly refreshing to see a new subscription box company actually listening to feedback from their first box and implementing it!

craftly july 2015 stickers

Craftly “Note to Self” Sticker Pack ($6) These are fun, and of course you can place them wherever you enjoy stickers (like your laptop). I think they have great universal messages. I would keep “Take Risks” for me and pass the other two to friends who have personalities that resonate with the other stickers.

craftly july 2015 do one thing every day that scares you

Penguin Random House Do One Thing Every Day That Scares You Journal ($6.97) This is a very neat journal that I think the whole box was inspired by.  I’m not really a journaler, but I could totally be inspired to spend a minute at the end of the day reflecting and getting ready for tomorrow.

Each day is an opportunity to perform one small act of bravery; singing out loud, asking for help, admitting a mistake, pitching an idea, accepting a compliment, changing your hair, going for the prize, failing spectacularly and trying again.

craftly july 2015 fitzy headphone wrap

Fitzy Design Nude Cord Keeper ($12) I love the simple design of this – and I really need it – I travel with so many cords I feel like it’s a huge jumble. I’m really happy with this gorgeous piece – I think the color is quite pretty!

craftly july 2015 IMG_6655The Old Tamarack Green Rose Natural Botanical Fragrance ($4.50) I love a good artisan fragrance! This one is natural and vegan, and not too strong, which was unexpected (and good).

Green Rose evokes imagery of overgrown rose gardens and moss covered stone walls. Violet leaf absolute grounds this scent with deep green richness. Floral middle notes of rose and geranium provide zest and sharpness. Top notes including neroli cloak the wearer of this scent with courage and subtle warmth.

I really like this scent – especially the violet leaf. I think it wears well, and subtly.

This box has a value of about $29.50 – add $6 if you use the MSRP of the journal. This is a good value for this type of box, and I think the curation is great – there’s definitely significant attention to design, and I would love to receive this as a gift! I would probably never go to the store and pick out these items myself, but I liked everything, and as usual, I love the serendipity of surprise items. This box has a men’s version too – which I’m super curious about because I haven’t found any shots of the men’s one! From what I’ve seen of the first two boxes, I think this is a solid artisan lifestyle subscription box and if you like the contents of the first two, you’ll probably be happy picking one up!
