burke box home decor july 2015 box

Burke Box’s Whole Home Box is a new monthly (or bi-monthly or quarterly – up to you!) subscription box containing a surprise selection of some of their favorite home goods  – from champagne flutes to aprons , desk accessories to throws  – it’s everything you need to keep your home looking freshly styled. You can expect a assortment of 3 to 4 spa products, home accessories, entertaining and serving pieces and or travel accessories every month. I love “home” items in my boxes and it’s just about perfection to get a whole box of stuff for my house every month! The box is $55 and promises $120 of items.

It was a little overflowing with the squigglies! But there was good reason for it – and they really do work to ensure items aren’t broken! The box is a really nice reusable box, and it’s shipped in an outer cardboard box with packing.

Everything in my box. Every box is unique and may have something a tad different from another box.

burke box home decor july 2015 information

This month included an information sheet with complete details on each item. I was excited to see a Kai candle – I didn’t know they made them!

So much pretty!  Absolutely everything was gorgeous.

burke box home decor july 2015 tozai tray

Tozai Hand-painted Shagreen Tray – Plum ($48) This tray is super substantial, and came in my favorite color (just coincidence!). The pattern in the middle is NOT glare but the actual pattern. This was sent out in four different colors I think – click through to see them!

Shagreen is the texture made from rays and sharks, but this is a handpainted finish, not made from animals! I am not sure about the meaning or significance of the white mark but it’s a pretty design.

burke box home decor july 2015 torre tagus fissure vase

Torre & Tagus Fissure Glass Bulb Vase ($54 – $35.52 on Amazon) I have mentioned before that I love getting “tall” items in my boxes as far as homewares are concerned – because most everything is designed to lay flat on a table. I think this is a pretty piece with a unique artisan design.  These two pieces go together too, although you don’t necessarily need to put them next to each other.

burke box home decor july 2015 kail candleKai Nightlight Candle ($26) This candle doesn’t have an elaborate holder design – it’s about designing the fragrance of your house. If you’ve tried this fragrance (it was in a Popsugar Must Have Box as well as a FabFitFun VIP box) you’ll know how intoxicating it is! Kai has a gardenia + white exotic flower signature scent and this candle doesn’t burn too strong in terms of fragrance, which is good because it would otherwise be overwhelming!

Because I found one of the items on Amazon for a teeny bit less, the value of this box fell a bit short of $120 at around $109. This is no big deal to me. I really liked the items and for $55 I can experiment with my home decor. I really like that they seem to include a home fragrance item in every box, and I just generally like their style. I would love to see some super unique items that I would never go and purchase but would love to see arrive in a subscription (sealife magnifying glass, yes!). There have only been a couple boxes for this company, but I’m very much hoping to see them branch out from standard items. I’m not sure if I would have liked the box as much as I did had I not received the tray in my favorite color.  I am worried that they seem to be sending out big box variations (as in entirely different boxes). This generally makes subscribers pretty unhappy so I think they might need to standardize their boxes a bit more.

Oh WOW another thing we have in common. Purple is my fave color too. LOL This looks like a nice box. Home decor is about the last thing on my shopping list as I have a hard time deciding what I want and then I just end up not getting anything 🙁 I always say my style is builder boring since that is pretty much what my house looks like.

I received the tray in jade and my vase is black with white threads.Count me in as another person wondering about the white in the middle of the tray. I love the candle scent. It is sensual and relaxing at the same time. Your variations look great! I especially like the plum tray.
