Disney Park Pack: Pin Trading Edition is a monthly mystery pack from the Disney Store. It’s not a subscription – you have to purchase it every month – and it’s available on the first Thursday of every month. This box has been shipping earlier every month, which is great, and I hope now that demand has died down a little bit (I was actually able to do a reminder post for July – but I’ll remind you each month in the monthly subscription reminder post too!), perhaps they’ll move to a subscription soon.
We were really happy how Disney packs these boxes – very protected! Tom wrote me a funny text message about this one:
I like the packaging: they put a plain white piece of cardstock on top and bottom so the gift box (wrapped in puffy sheet) doesn’t get damage if you cut into outer box — well thought through packaging!
I really don’t know what you’d do with the boxes, but they’re very nice! And so are the pins! These are the Park Pack pins for July 2015. Disney Pins are the perfect souvenir – small, not too expensive, and fun to collect. There’s no information card for this box, and I wish they’d include a curator’s note – maybe with names for these pins!
Unlike previous months, both non-LE pins have the pricing information on the back!
All pins include the Mickey pin-backs!
Disney Cartoons Vintage Cartoon Cell Pin – This is the limited edition pin and there are 4 variants. Like last month, each has a different coloring, so if you want to trade for all four, you’ll have a set that has increasingly more color (last month the Cheshire Cat’s background disappeared – and so did he!).
The Limited Edition pin has four variants of a similar design or theme; each of the variants has an edition size of 500. A different Limited Edition pin may be available in each box.
I am Groot Pin – This is a Silver pin ($8.95). Definitely a hot item right now and the “Open Edition” pins (the ones that aren’t the LE pin) are released to Park Pack buyers before they’re available for sale.
Mickey Rhinestone Pin – This is also “Silver” level. This isn’t my favorite pin and I wished it had more rainbow colors in the crystals instead of just being plain white.
I loved the Vintage cartoon pin! I think it’s super cute. We don’t trade our pins really – we have a Mickey themed bathroom for the kids and are working on making a decorative banner so they can hang all their pins on it – and later on they can separate it into their own collections. I think it will be really neat, so I’m going to keep on getting this box, even though July wasn’t a wow box for me. My kids think it’s really special to get a new pin every month and I’m really happy that we started the pin thing!

To those of you who missed this box be aware that you must get up super early in order to get one! It remains to be seen how many boxes will be available in future months – for July it was clear that there were still only 2,000 boxes available. Currently there is a limit of 1. FYI to scalpers – these boxes aren’t selling for a whole lot on eBay. After your eBay fees you aren’t really coming out ahead, so stop buying the extras.

Do you know around what time they go on sale? When should I plan to be awake? lol
Anywhere from 3 to 345a eastern. For July they were available all day long. eBay resellers figured out nobody is interested in paying a huge premium for them. But I will still wake up early just in case!!
