Taste Trunk Wine Country Box Review & Coupon

Taste Trunk is a monthly subscription box of gourmet treasures. You can pick one of 4 themes – sweet, BBQ, gourmet, and healthy chef! You can, in addition to the subscription, choose gift boxes that do not have a subscription. It’s also worth checking out the site to see what seasonal trunks are available! Because we have sampled multiple trunks in the past, Taste Trunk did a create your own Trunk for us, featuring products from California wine country!

Everything in Taste Trunk packages is always extremely well-packaged.

In addition to the nicely presented box and securely packaged contents, there are recipe cards plus information on each item.

Napa Valley Vinegar Co. Blood Orange Vinegar ($9.99):  Perfect for dressing greens, especially any salad incorporating fruit.  In addition to the distinct color, blood oranges have a a little bit of berry accent in addition to the orange flavor.  I think this would make an awesome shrub (mixed drink) as well.  Napa Valley offers five additional flavors, too!

Wine Country Kitchens Amber Beer Mustard ($7.52): This takes a classic Dijon further with the addition of sweet malt and amber beer.  Great slathered on anything you would eat with mustard or wash down with a beer.  Pretzels, hot dogs, grilled, roasted, or barbecued meats all would pair perfectly.  Also try brushing on chicken breast before topping with bread crumbs, parmesan, and ground nuts for an awesome crunchy coating.

Napa Jack’s Chardonnay & Roasted Garlic Marinade ($5.99):  I always throw garlic and, when possible, wine, into my marinades.  This is loaded with roasted garlic chunks and would work well with any protein.  Grilled chicken thighs and shrimp would be especially great.

Wine Country Kitchens Cherry Tomato & Olive Tapenade ($10.80):  This tapenade has big chunks of olives, not minced bits.  The tomato is a great complement and carries the briny goodness of the olives perfectly.  I was glad to find the tomatoes were not sun dried — as such, they didn’t overwhelm the olives and instead offered a sweet counterpoint.  I put a dollop atop some crostini with soft cheese and slices of herbed chicken breast for a simple appetizer/quick meal.

This is an all-natural subscription – we never have to worry that something has a weird preservative and everything in this box is delicious. We really liked that you can make a custom gift box for anyone!
