Geek Fuel is a geek & gamer subscription box. It’s a monthly mystery box of at least $40 worth of geeky goodness with exclusive games, toys, gear, collectibles, and all things epic.

A mini mag comes with the box.

The truth is out there. I have the biggest crush on anything and everything X Files.

geek fuel june 2015 review jurassic park books

Jurassic Park ($5.45) & The Lost World ($6.16) This is unique/interesting/cool. It’s unusual for sure but with The Lost World out, I’m betting that lots of people want to read the book – and honestly, even if you’d originally read Jurassic Park you’ve probably forgotten what happened! I do prefer digital but we’ll probably read these.

The Truth Is Out There Shirt ($15) This is one of those times that I’m super excited that the shirt is for me (instead of one of my kids or my husband!). So weird, I love it.

I do wish it wasn’t quite so green though (it’s extremely green).  The mens’ shirt was a grey color. They could definitely stand to improve the quality of the shirts a bit too. They’re not bad – but they’re not top quality.

90’s Mutant Hero Ooze ($3) This is fun and you can see that it’s super viscous with that huge bubble coming up!

Mighty Morphin Magnet

Finish It Book Mark

Just your average geek box doodads.

Super Win The Game Downloadable Game Code & Keychain ($10) It’s great that this gamer-centric box has included a downloadable game code (usually for Steam games) in every box – plus an extra doodad if you don’t play.  This month is a keychain (with key!). This looks somewhat amusing to play. I’m going to have to check out Steam sometime..

The May Geek Fuel had around $42 of items in the box, which was ok.  I didn’t really think it was their best effort with the flimsy magnet and bookmark but I thought the shirt design was great.

Do you think all the geek type boxes tend to be heavy on filler? Is there one you prefer over the others or it just depends on the month?

This was I think unusual for this subscription. I think they tried something different this month and it didn’t really work for me, though I’ve heard from others who LOVED it. Right now I’m loving Power Up Box, Comic Con Box, and the last Collectible Geek box was good, although they’ve been atrocious (especially to be a “no filler” box). Oh and Geek Me Box is a real hit around here. I feel like Geek Fuel has been consistently good and I just didn’t personally love this box, and want them to get better shirts (it didn’t help I opened Loot Crate same day, which has the best shirts). 1 Up Box is all filler but it’s cute. They’re all different.

I have a personal STRONG dislike of thin magnets. And you know I am a librarian so I have mixed feelings on getting books in boxes (yay books! but also – use the library!).

Also looking back at the other reviews I’ve done, I didn’t see any filler items like these before: https://hellosubscription.com/subscription-box-reviews/geek-fuel-reviews/
