disney park pack pin trading box june 2015 box

Disney Park Pack: Pin Trading Edition is a monthly mystery pack from the Disney Store. It’s not a subscription – you have to purchase it every month – and it’s available on the first Thursday of every month.  Unfortunately they sell out too early in the day for me to make a monthly reminder, though I’ll remind you (as I did this month!) in the monthly box reminder post (see the June one!). This box shipped far earlier than I expected and I hope they continue that!

Disney Pins are the perfect souvenir – small, not too expensive, and fun to collect.  There’s no information card for this box, and I wish they’d include a curator’s note – maybe with names for these pins!

Jack Skellington Shitkicker Pin (Blue level – 10.95) Well, this is why they should give these pins names! This is really unique with an actual shoelace. This one is an open edition, but mailed to Park Pack buyers before available in the Disney parks.

Mickey Ghost Costume Pin (No Level): This is a cute and non-scary pin. Disney is starting to promo Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party (which we will hopefully go to again this year) so I’m not totally surprised there were Halloween pins in the June edition! This one is also an open edition. We can find out how much it sells for later on in the year, although it’s not a terribly complicated pin. Silver level at most!

Cheshire Cat Tea Party LE Pin (No Level): Love this one, it’s super cute! I think that the variation on this pin is the smokey background, not the color of the frame. I adore Alice in Wonderland and am super happy with the variation I received! This limited edition pin will never be reproduced anywhere else.

The Limited Edition pin has four variants of a similar design or theme; each of the variants has an edition size of 500.  A different Limited Edition pin may be available in each box.

Some general info about Disney Pins & Trading:

  • Prices: Green ($6.95) Red & Silver ($8.95) Blue ($10.95) Yellow ($12.95) Pink ($14.95) Lavender ($16.95). Special ones cost more.
  • Cast Members with green lanyards may only trade with kids ages 3 to 12. You can trade up to two pins per day with any trading Cast Member.
  • You don’t have to trade your pins, you can just collect them.
  • You can only trade real Disney pins, and they all bear a copyright notice on the back.
  • Don’t buy nice pins to trade, buy lots of pins on eBay from a reputable seller.

To those of you who missed this box, either in May or June, be aware that you must get up super early in order to get one!  It remains to be seen how many boxes will be available in future months – for June it was clear that there were still only 2,000 boxes available. Currently there is a limit of 1. FYI to scalpers – these boxes aren’t selling for a whole lot on eBay. After your eBay fees you aren’t really coming out ahead, so stop buying the extras.

I hope this goes to a subscription soon – Disney was perfectly able to use a standalone site for the Marvel Collector’s Corps box. I also have my fingers crossed really hard that they’ll have a non-pin Disney subscription box sometime in the future too (with exclusive items!). Unfortunately all of us crazy Disney peeps showed them that there’s no need to provide more value in a box than the list price so I’m not expecting gobs of merchandise for a low cost.

oh I love the shitkicker pin 😉 They are all great this month.
You know I would totally be in for another box with stuff in it. Kindof like the grab bags but in a sub box. I would love that.
