power up box review

Power Up Box is a new subscription with geek, gamer, and pop culture collectibles and gear.   Get an epic box every month with a “Christmas morning, gift opening experience,” 12 times a year!  You can choose the premium box (6-9 items) or the deluxe box (4-6 items) and both boxes include a shirt in your opening experience. FYI I have heard from readers that you really should go for the premium box (which this box is). Power Up Box features Funko Vinyl Figures in most of their boxes, which is exciting for us, because we have one huge 4 year old fan. Funko items include Funko Pop!, Mystery Minis, and Dorbz!

I was SO excited when I opened this box! I could tell it was amazing right away! Plus it was totally full (and it’s a really large box!).

powerup box may 2015

YES! All the items in the May 2015 Premium PowerUp Box.

Star Wars (2015) Comic #004 with Bonus Digital Edition ($3.99)  This looks interesting, and it’s always cool to get a peek at the extensive Star Wars universe.

THE GREATEST SPACE ADVENTURE OF ALL TIME CONTINUES! Luke Skywalker is NOT a Jedi—not yet, at least. He’s only ever met one Jedi in his life…and he died. So, Luke’s quest leads him back to Obi-Wan’s hut…on Tatooine.

Lightning Bugs Gummy Candy ($2) This is just fun! The tons actually make the bugs “glow” when you pick them up. I didn’t open this – the kids had lollipops today so have already met their sugar quotas – but I know it will be fun!

Star Wars Boba Fett 48 Piece Puzzle (~$5) My husband was super pumped about this! It will make a fun activity for him and our son. Or after the kids go to bed!

IMG_4347

For Fox Sake Mug ($7.50) I adore this! Desk-worthy for me!  Few things make it on to my desk and this is perfect for me.

Angry Birds Star Wars Notebook ($5?) & Jumbo Pen ($3?) These are fun items perfect to take some silly notes with!

IMG_4349

Great pattern on all the pages of the notebook.

Nightmare Before Christmas Socks ($8) These are fun and I have a family member that’s a huge Nightmare Before Christmas fan! I like socks as a geek item because everyone needs socks.

IMG_4351

Funko POP! Vinyl Figure – Hanna Barbera Frankenstein Jr. & The Impossibles ($9) I wasn’t familiar with this series, although Tiffany probably would be. (She really is a huge animation fan). It was a 60’s cartoon and this heroic character was wielded by a boy scientist against supervillains.

Licensed Star Wars T-Shirt ($19) This shirt manages to be both soft and thick at the same time. Unbelievably none of us own a basic Star Wars logo shirt and my husband was thrilled to have this one! FYI – the color is actually brown, not washed out black.

The value of this box is around $63 which was awesome, plus we loved all the items!  I am thrilled to see that their second box is just as good as their first – and still filler-free. The premium box is $29.95 per month plus $9.95 shipping, and the deluxe box is $19.95 per month plus $6.95 shipping (fellow readers recommend getting the premium over the deluxe).  You can also gift a box to your fave geek!

I love this box. We actually own that puzzle or one pretty close to it anyway but I have no idea where it came from. If we had opened this N would have been stoked for sure.
