may 2015 hampton lane review

The May Hamptons Lane theme is “Summer Picnic.” Hamptons Lane is a fantastic foodie/gourmet subscription box perfect for everyone who loves to eat well and likes to have a hand in preparing their food. It doesn’t just deliver a few tasty morsels — Hamptons Lane curated boxes are great because they usually have some cool kitchen gadgets that enable you to recreate the deliciousness again and again.  You get the equipment, the guidance, and some tasty gourmet accompaniments too!

There’s a great fold-out full color brochure in each box.

Jan’s Farmhouse Crisps ($6) We were going to save this for wine time, but our six year old daughter had other ideas. We enjoyed these crisps, which feature cranberries, flax seeds, pistachios, and pepitas just for fun! As usual, I suggest with cream cheese. Husband would say brie.

Garlic Dill Mustard ($7) This is a strongly flavored mustard, which means that it’s perfect. I love a good natural brown mustard and the flavoring in this one is unique.

Bee’s Wrap ($12.60) This is the most delicious food storage I have ever encountered! It’s made of organic cotton muslin, beeswax (the wrap smells like honey), jojoba oil, and tree resin. Warm it in your hands to shape it and form a seal, and handwash to reuse! I think this will be perfect for storing cheese and salame.

Raw Tupelo Honey Packets ($3.45) This is a great non-messy way to take Tupelo (which is the best honey – and this is raw and unprocessed to boot!) along with you on a picnic.

Custom Crafted Olivewood & Stainless Steel Knife by Pallares Solsona + Leather Picnic Knife Sheath (~$60) My husband loves this knife! It’s stainless steel and while not as sharp as carbon, shouldn’t rust. The handle is classy and beautiful and I like the imprint too.
