FL2 is a new monthly men’s sports and athletic clothing subscription from Fabletics. It’s a boutique/showroom subscription – every month you get suggested outfits, pick one, or skip (or be charged for the month). I am in desperate need of new workout and lounge shorts so I was excited to check this one out. Now that my wife has me completely addicted to my subscriptions, I find that I look forward to them every month. I selected the “Andes” outfit and had my wife choose between yellow and blue for the shirt (although I picked gray for the shorts).
The Northgate Tee’s seamless construction offers minimal distractions during your workout. Go to and from the gym in the Culver Short, with its stretch fabric and relaxed fit. We recommend sizing down if you wear an XL or XXL.
Northgate Tee ($39.95 regular price, $29.95 VIP price) The shirt is substantially brighter than the website shows – it’s a true neon. I was still happy she selected this one, because it provides excellent visibility when out and about (which is indeed why she selected it). It’s very stretchy and features seamless construction.
Culver Short ($64.95 regular price, $49.95 VIP price) This is a stretchy woven material, and altogether unexpected. It’s 80% PET, which is apparently a polyester made from recycled coke bottles. I was surprised at the quality of the shorts, and how well put together they made me look. It’s like the gym teacher shorts of the 21st century.
The waistband of the short features a sweat-wicking band, along with outer belt loops. It has a zip fly and a snap closure.
The fabric is very hard to describe. FYI, the shorts looked extremely large, but fit perfectly.
There is a small almost unnoticeable Fabletics logo on the back, along with a zipper rear pocket, which is an excellent feature and much appreciated.
Using VIP prices, I got the shirt for free. I think it’s a great value, and definitely took the hassle away from my wife from replacing my shorts, which she tsked about last week (I think they may be 10 year old Kmart shorts, which is mildly appalling). I didn’t care for the camo pieces or the muscle tees in the collection, although others may find them desirable. I do already have my eye on another set next month – there’s a pair of soft terry shorts that looks excellent.
