Sweet & Spicy is super nicey! Sweet + Spicy is the theme for the February BiteBox! The Pantry Gourmets BiteBox is a gourmet subscription box – you’ll get 4-6 full size food items in every box selected from passionate artisan producers and the goal is to hook you up with gourmet food greatness! In addition to the food, you’ll get full color recipe cards with ideas on using your items. In your first monthly subscription, you’ll get a bamboo recipe card box – to store the nice color recipe cards you get every month! My box didn’t come with the recipe cards this month – I don’t know why!

This box is super large and super heavy – I’m always excited to open it up because it’s always a surprise.

Every month has a theme. Apparently Mr. Chocolate is seducing Ms. Chile.

The box ships at the very end of the month, so this is the February BiteBox. Just about everything had a sweet/spicy profile.

The Jam Stand’s You’re My Boy Blueberry Bourbon Jam  ($10) I think everyone loves the jam stand, right? This is a scrumptious blueberry jam made with bourbon and vanilla.  You cannot go wrong with that!

A&B American Style Pepper Sauce ($6) This is nice and hot – no sugar added but it uses veggies like carrots as the base, so it has a great natural sweetness. I thought this one was really tasty. I love a hot sauce that adds flavor along with heat!

Dude, Sweet Chocolate Break Up Potion Chocolate Sauce ($9) WHOAH MOMMA this is spicy as in it’s like a shot of chocolate bourbon. Loved this, I understand why it’s Break Up Potion. If you’re not breaking up, feel free to call it mommy’s special sauce.

Wild Friends Honey Sunflower Butter ($10) This was yummy and smooth – I loved the honey flavor alongside the nuttiness of this sunflower spread.

Tumbador Chocolates Dulce de Chile Chocolate ($3.33) I’m pretty sure I was supposed to show the chocolate in this photo, whoops, I ate it. It was sweeter than I expected and had a milk chocolate base to offset the cascabel pepper. I love chile chocolate (like LOVE) so I was happy to see this.

Zukali Fire Roasted Jalapenos ($6.95)  This jar had a slight mishap! These jalapenos are marinated in a blend of soy sauce, lime juice, and spices.

This was a fun box – I liked the theme, and the items added up to $45. Artisan food boxes should be around the cost of the box and the value was right around there.  I really love the chocolate bourbon sauce and 2 chocolate items make up for just about anything! I wish I’d been able to see the recipe cards, I think they add value to the box.
