We had so much fun with the January’s Koala Crate Music box – my husband took loads of photos because E is so adorable doing his crafts. Koala Crate is a monthly subscription box from KiwiCo for preschoolers ages 3 to 4. Koala Crate was created to encourage hands-on learning and fun. Activities are designed to be developmentally appropriate and enriching while also engaging, fun, and universally appealing.
A Koala Crate box comes with a variety of supplies to create a project, perform activities, and fun games.
There are two books that will come in your Koala Crate. The first is the instructions & inspiration book. This gives an overview of all the items in the crate (on the right), the 3 primary activity, and the messiness level and required grownup assistance needed.
Every activity tells you the required materials, engagement questions to ask your child, step by step instructions, and play ideas.
Imagine! magazine is made for you and your preschooler to explore together.
There’s a fun story to help introduce your child to the theme of the box.
A movement activity and poem/story. Plus a variety of finding activities and other games.
E is always so excited about the box. I see that he dressed in his Kiwi Crate shirt too!
He loves having a box just for his age.
rhythm game: My daughter taught him how to “read” the pictures and repeat the patterns.
He has been really into it!
Trumpet: This was simple and fun – decorate a cardboard tube and attach tissue to one end – it becomes a trumpet after you poke a few tiny holes!
He adores stickers.
dancing silk: we misplaced the koolaid, so replaced it with a blue one we had leftover from a party.
This was alot of fun!
I have noticed that every Koala Crate has a “keep” item that you’ll want to save for really extended use. This included two of them and we were just super impressed with the January box!
