Golden Tote is a monthly fashion grab bag – Get new pieces monthly that are fashionable, seasonable, and affordable. When you pick the $149 tote you select two pieces and then you get 5-7 pieces with a total value of up to $600! When you get the $49 tote you pick one item and get 2 (or sometimes 3).
This month I went for the $149 tote. I normally go for the $49 tote.
Lime Chili Navy/White Asymmetrical Top – I can usually dig an asymmetrical top, but not in this pattern. It just didn’t really do it for me, probably because I have a large behind. It just didn’t work.
I didn’t like the buttons hanging off the fabric either.
Esley Floral Tunic – This is a superthin polyester tunic, and I can’t say I liked a single thing about it. The bell sleeves would drive me batty, and I didn’t like the weird mesh lace everywhere.
Grifflin Paris Charcoal Stripe Top – This was my favorite item this month (though not a chosen item). It was really cute and cozy. Great side detail too.
Lime Chili Blue Swing Dress – This was so not my style. At all. The slub/space dye fabric is kinda neat, but it’s a super loose knit, but it’s see-through. Add the bell sleeves and the open lace detail, and I’m out.
Pop Print Tee Dress ($35) This was a chosen item and it’s super cute. I love love love the pattern and the athletic style.
Faded Indigo Joggers ($35) These were cute and fun and a great alternative to actual jeans! I was happy to see a forgiving pant option and that’s why I selected them as one of my items.
I’m not having a great month for personal styling subscriptions at all, and this tote didn’t fulfill my needs (because I somewhat violently dislike 3 out of 4 of my surprise options). This was the first month that I wrote anything of substance in my order notes and that was a total fail. I was hoping/expecting some outerwear (I was all like I love cardis, scarves, capes, ruanas, etc) and I didn’t get any. Golden Tote does have a return policy – you can send the entire thing back, and I’ll be taking them up on it. I lose the shipping back (the refund the original shipping charges!) but I’d rather do that. FYI I was able to get the entire tote in a medium flat rate box.
I’m still looking forward to my March Golden Tote already – See the first look at Golden Tote Spoilers for March 2015. I need that pineapple sweatshirt! It will be mine!

Except for the floral tunic I like the look of the other items but it is so hard to tell until you try things on. That is why I’m always so leary of these boxes. I feel like I’m hard to fit and would be afraid that nothing would work for me.
