Bespoke Post is a men’s lifestyle subscription box. Each month, you’ll get to choose from one of the limited-edition boxes filled with an array of products built around a central, unique theme. There are usually two new boxes to choose from every month in addition to a selection of past boxes. One of the great things about this subscription is that you can skip the month if you’re not interested in it. This month I ordered both of them because knives. You can save 25% on your first Bespoke Post box with coupon code JOIN25.
The centerpiece of the Bespoke Post Honed chef’s knife package is the German-made Ludwig Schiff 8″ blade ($80). The box also included a handy blade guard and towel to help keep your knife in good shape. This is a high carbon, ice tempered stainless steel blade that is hand-forged (not stamped). It’s a Henckels quality knife, or better.
The information sheet gave a few details about the knife and some knife skills pointers.
I also ordered a few a la carte items from Bespoke Post to upgrade my kitchen gear. Some knife work needs a more delicate touch, so I grabbed the Ludwig Schiff paring knife as well. This light, thin, stainless beauty shares the full-tang and proper balance of its larger cousin. I rounded out my haul with a reorder of JoJo’s sriracha: trying the petit sirah-infused this time; was really pleased with the brightness and flavor of JoJo’s. Lastly, I couldn’t resist picking up “Knife Skills”, a treatise by Michelin-Starred chefs covering use of a multitude of bladed implements to prepare everything from abalone to leg of lamb. It covers fancy fruit preparations and goes as far afield as filleting a skate wing. An awesome read.
