Like the rest of my boxes, #MSA02 was delivered after we returned home for the holidays.  I was excited to open the second installment of the My Subscription Addiction Quarterly box. Since lots of people travel for the holidays I do wish all boxes would arrive by December 15, but that’s just me. If you’re unfamiliar with Quarterly, they are a box company that sells celebrity-curated boxes. I have a love-hate relationship with Quarterly – I really really want to love everything they sell but usually something irks me about their boxes. I think it’s the way they put their catalogs together that oftentimes makes the boxes seem disjointed. For example, Liz (owner of My Subscription Addiction) wanted a cozy throw in the box – do I really think she would have selected this particular one? Not really.  But it was an interesting and unique choice. Nothing is run of the mill in these boxes and that’s why I continue to subscribe to them!

The Winter box had everything you need for a cozy day at home, a little holiday sparkle and one of Liz’s favorite skincare items.IMG_7901

Faribault Woolen Mill Co. Recycled Wool Throw in Red Whip Stitching ($65) This is quite stiff and is more utilitarian than I would normally want – but it will look great in the kids’ “adventure” room. I would not use it anywhere else in my home – it’s totally not my style.

Fuzzy Slipper Socks ($9) Warm fuzzies.

Yes to Carrots Fragrance Free Intense Hydration Night Cream ($12.99) Love this brand. This is a great inclusion.

Bauble Bar Ice Circle Pendant ($32) This is cute and sweet but I feel like I’m suffering an overload of tiny delicate gold jewelry.

I liked how Liz noted there would be 3 color variations on the socks.IMG_7903

Au Naturale Creme Eye Shadow (Addiction & White Quartz) ($40) My verdict isn’t out yet on this except that it’s messy because it’s a cream. When I tried it out I wasn’t really in the mood for it.IMG_7904

I thought overall #MSA01 was better than #MSA02, though this box didn’t have anything that ruined it for me (like the scarf did). While I returned & canceled my Nina Garcia box (you can return Quarterly boxes if you don’t enjoy them!) I am keeping this one (obviously, since I used the shadows, but I had already decided to keep). Not really a wow box for me but of course I have to see the next one!

The box also came with a free 30 days subscription to Next Issue.

I would have loved to receive this #MSA02 box. I think Liz curated it well, and I wish I’d have known about it in time to order one for myself. Many uses for that type of sturdy wool blanket (emergency car blanket, picnics, on the floor, for decor…). The necklace looks adorable and, IMO, is more versatile than a flashy, clunky statement piece. Love that Liz is moving towards eco-friendly/cruelty-free items. Can’t wait for #MSA03!

i don’t have a lot of pics of my house up yet (just moved, new baby, etc) but it’s all jewel toned and modern, which is why it wouldn’t go with my decor at all. it’s one of the reasons i’m creating an “adventure themed” room for my kids (besides the fact that it will be awesome!) – so I have a place to put the non-matchy stuff! i am looking forward too!

I was definitely mad I missed the first box after it came out so I signed up for the 2nd thinking it would be awesome. But I just definitely didn’t love it, I was hoping for a cozier throw blanket. She said this wool blanket gets softer the more times you wash it, I hope so. I washed it once, it’s still scratchy. I love the fuzzy socks though and yes to carrots night cream. I swapped the white eye shadow and gold necklace. The necklace was pretty, I just hate gold and never wear it, lol just a personal preference. I might stick around and see what the 3rd box entails and then maybe cancel after that.

I kept the necklace…I actually really love it more than I thought I would! I also kept the socks and even swapped for a second pair…one can never have to many “warm fuzzies” lol! I also kept the yes to carrots and am planning on using it as a hand cream. I didn’t care for the blanket. I like a super soft blanket so I swapped it. Also not a huge fan of cream shadows…the colors are pretty tho. I liked this box more than the first one.

Hmm the throw looks like the blankets they use when you move to protect your furniture or the free blankets on airplanes lol

I loved this box. Can’t wait for next quarter. Thought it was well curated and a lot of thought went into it. The necklace is beautiful, the throw is great quality, the shadows are amazing, I’m kind of meh on the face cream but I’m partial to lancer. We’ll worth the money…
