October’s Allure & Beauty Bar Sample Society box is really turning into a great beauty subscription box. I liked the last version but I’m really loving this one. You get 5 deluxe samples in every box, plus a $10 off $50 code for BeautyBar, for $15 a month. I love that this box sometimes includes a hair accessory.

The mini mag has tons of information on each product. It feels very editorial.IMG_5742

L’Oreal Paris Advanced Haircare Total Repair 5 Restoring Shampoo and Conditioner ($1) It’s always fun to try a new shampoo & conditioner but it would have been great if the included sample was a little more high end. However, Allure editors do recommend both high & low so it was appropriate.

Emi Jay Hair Ties  ($6.50) Nice fall colors. Better than using the kid’s pink sparkly ones for when I need something more subdued!

Estee Lauder Enlighten Dark Spot Correcting Night Serum ($15) I’m all about correcting uneven pigmentation on my skin so I’ll use this right up!  Apparently they had originally promised a much larger size, but made a mistake. WHOOPS.IMG_5738

Bobbi Brown Smokey Eye Mascara in Black ($16) I honestly thought I was getting a shadow palette or shadow samples and this was a nice surprise when I opened the card. Have I ever seen Bobbi Brown in a box? I don’t think so! This was great!

Bond. No. 9 High Line Perfume Sample ($1) Every time I see a wrapped perfume sample like this I think it’s candy. Fortunately it was not candy!

The Allure October box was a HUGH let down.
Thought we were getting a larger EL serum. What were they thinking with putting the L’Oreal shampoo and conditioner in the box? And if that wasn’t bad enough, they put in a fragrance sample. I hope November is better.
