Screen Shot 2014-01-20 at 2.26.46 PMPlated has new menus available! I have to admit, I’ve been using the feature to check out this week’s menu (for my zip I can still get Friday delivery sold out now!), next week’s menu, and the week after that! I think it’s totally awesome and allows great flexibility. We are having Plated for dinner tonight and skipping next week – but I’m all about the week after that! I’ve already set up my 2/7 delivery!

The Subscription: Plated
The Description: Ingredients for chef-designed meals delivered to your door. You select the chef-created recipes on the Plated.com website and Plated sends you a box of food and recipes.
The Price: $60 per week
The Coupon: Use code b0c635 for 2 free plates – 50% off coupon!

Next week’s Plated Menu

  • Red Rice with Roasted Squash, Leeks and Pepitas
  • Chili Chicken Meatballs with Chard
  • Artichoke Fontina Calzones
  • Philly-Style Cheese Steaks
  • Mussels with Turkey Sausage
  • Creamy Orzo with Eggplant & Arugula
  • Pork Chops with Chard & Polenta

I’m not a fan of bitter greens or polenta, and I generally like to get the meat dishes in my meal subscription boxes, so I’m skipping Plated next week, though the cheese steaks were super tempting!

Next-Next Week’s Plated Menu

  • Skirt Steak with Cilantro Chimichurri and Carrot-Citrus Hash
  • Vegetable Fried Rice
  • Cauliflower Spinach Empanadas with Spinach Salad
  • Tofu Vegetable Kebabs with Edamame Soba Noodles
  • Arroz con Pollo
  • Shrimp Scampi with Pecorino Roasted Broccoli
  • Pollock in Parchment with Potatoes & Roasted Carrots

I’m getting the steak & the arroz con pollo! I’ve never cooked the latter before so it wil be a learning experience for me!

If you are new to Plated, use code b0c635 for your 2 free plates! That’s half off. If you aren’t new, then visit & check out the menu! Subscription boxes like Plated (seriously, what are we calling them?) are getting super popular for good reason! They make fresh, yummy food and it’s so easy. So it’s a good idea to snag the menu if you’re interested. I like Plated’s flexibility to order more or less (as few as 4 plates total) according to your needs.

You can see all the meal subscription services & dinner kits in the directory!

Cottage cheese would probably work just fine! The vegetarian meals that I have tried so far have been amazing! I have even made a couple of the recipes again since first having them (for ex. Spanish Chickpea soup with spinach and the spaghetti squash with chickpeas). I’m loving all their pollock recipes so far…I can’t seem to find pollock here at the stores, though. My husband and I don’t eat red meat or pork so, that’s why we order the seafood and vegetarian meals. I do think you get more bang for your buck though with Plated’s steak meals but, we don’t eat it.
It’s funny because I LOVED the salmon with the winter citrus salad. It was probably one of my fav meals from them! Lol!
Oh and I love grits – especially cheesy grits. Never had polenta…for some reason it doesn’t look appealing. 🙂

We are totally opposite with our food preferences! I love mushrooms and ricotta, etc. Tomorrow I’m getting the Wild Mushroom pappardelle and Salmon Teriyaki. For 1/29: Mussels with Turkey Sausage and the Artichoke Calzones. 2/5: Pollock in Parchment and the Cauliflower Empanadas.
My husband and I love Plated’s seafood and vegetarian meals.
Did you order the Salmon and Winter Citrus salad last week?

LOL we can’t always agree on everything! You are right, we are totally opposite. I would have picked up next week were it not for that pesky ricotta. I may change my mind and sub in cottage cheese, which I love (I just hate ricotta, and I also think polenta is the pits but I love grits – and no they are NOT the same thing). I really don’t think of myself as picky, if you know what I mean, there are just some ingredients I cannot manage.

I did order the Salmon & Winter Citrus salad. Tomorrow will be my third time eating it. I just couldn’t bring myself to eat an entire half at once and my kids don’t eat a whole lot at dinner time. I don’t think I have ordered vegetarian from Plated. I don’t think it’s the same value without my big hunk of meat. Convince me otherwise!

But P.S. I *am* going to try to make myself take the white-fish options more frequently. I know it’s good for me and I can bear it. But I wouldn’t ever pick fish over a steak.

Ok, I think I’m becoming a little ok…a lot obsessed with Plated! I haven’t missed a week with them since I’ve joined in November. The days that I don’t make a Plated meal I use one of their recipes from the meals that I didn’t order and they are all delicious! Best subscription ever!

What did you order for this week/next week? I am weird about specific ingredients, not types of food (like styles, cuisines, etc). Mushrooms, stink cheese, chard, and ricotta are big offenders for me, and butternut squash is (I’m sorry, it’s true)… too buttery. Especially the organic kind. It’s so strong and buttery. And of course fish. I’ve been making myself try it but after this week’s Plated with salmon I won’t make myself do salmon again.
