December’s WhimseyBox was an Air Dry Clay project, which was so neat. I got mine really late due to the USPS “mixup” of returning all my mail to sender in December. Fortunately for me, Whimsey Box sent my box back to me. They were so awesome about it!

December 2013 WhimseyBox Review: Air Dry Clay
This box was so heavy – because it had an entire block of clay in it! I was pretty excited about the project, the bowl with the lace detail looked so darling! I love the step by step instructions, and so does my daughter.
You only needed a third of this clay to make the bowl, so you could make all sorts of extra projects.
We got to work, rolling out the clay. You rolled the clay on top of the lace to form the pattern, and then cut the bowl out.
We used the bottom of a Mickey Mouse mug to form our bowl.
I also made this “thing.” I couldn’t figure out how to put a bottom on it, but I did cut out a butterfly and it dried right on.
The finished bowl is gorgeous.
I tried enhancing it with gold.
My daughter decorated the butterfly and I think she did a great job. A Mason jar fits right in, and we can use it disguise something ugly!
I liked this project. It was easy and simple but also something I wouldn’t think of by myself!
