I was totally psyched when asked to review the December TravelBox, as I am a very frequent traveler! But even if you aren’t, this is a fun box, because the theme that really runs through stuff travelers like is trying new things plus fun gadgets and gizmos to make your life easier. TravelBox is $33 per month plus $5.95 shipping and is designed to deliver happiness to the travel-obsessed! Right now I’ve been mulling over where to go next – besides family travel, of course! The first TravelBox (this one!) will start to ship on January 2 and you must order by December 27.

December 2013 TravelBox Review – Founders’ Box

I liked the amount of information on the card, and that the items in the box were internationally sourced. Usually the best travel items come from outside the States!

I was totally excited by what I saw in my TravelBox! I’m about to use one of them in approximately 20 minutes 🙂

Soap + Face Mask
Soap + Face Mask

Lanolin Agg Tval Eggwhite Facial Care ($5.50) Made from lanolin, egg white, and rosewater (it’s pretty much a literal translation there), it’s the secret to Swedish beauty I guess! I like it because it’s not liquid and I don’t have to put it in my liquids bag. I rarely check luggage!

Dream Essentials Ultra Light Weight Sleep Mask ($10) This has large cups that go over your eyes so as not to squish your eyelashes. I know bestie (who travels for work) is going to demand a complete review of this one, so I’m using it as I sleep tonight. Plus I have to sleep in a curtainless basement in Vermont (um, it’s not like anyone’s around but that sun sure comes up early!).

Paris City Guide
Paris City Guide

Luxe City Guide, Paris ($10) I was excited to get this. I promptly gifted it to MIL so could stop whining about where she is going to eat in France. She leaves in about 24 hours and I can’t wait.  In all seriousness, this is perfect for her trip because she’s going to London and hadn’t really planned anything for their Paris jaunt except that they’re going.

Guylian Belgian Chocolates

Guylian Artisnal Belgian Chocolates ($1) These are totally beautiful chocolates with all three kinds swirled together. C’est magnifique! And delicious. Hazelnut filling, my favorite!

Breffo Spider

Breffo Spider Podium ($20) This pretty much has a zillion uses. I wouldn’t necessarily use it as a tripod but to hold the iphone while the kids are watching something on the plane? Yes. Immediate fight ender!

I thought TravelBox was a great, useful, and fun box and nothing was wasted (no silly huge paperback travel guides or similarly useless items). The total value of the Founders’/December TravelBox is $46.50, about $8 more than the cost including the shipping. I felt like this was a good value for this type of box (and really, any box that includes imported goods a value at or above the cost including shipping is great!). I’m totally excited to see the next TravelBox. If you’d like to subscribe, visit Travel Box and don’t forget to use the promo code WELCOME to save 10% off your first box. Where are you going next?  I need some travel ideas!
