Hello Happy Readers! I’m sorry I can’t do a consumer survey and give everyone $10 to participate, instead I’m doing a quick giveaway for a $10 Amazon gift card for helping me choose which giveaway widget to use! This one is Rafflecopter (because I was putting up another giveaway using it). There are entries for entering three different giveaways on my site, all of which use different widgets. There’s an entry for COMMENTING about which widget you like best, and then a few more entries for following me everywhere (as usual).

Thanks for your assistance! Hopefully we can make a decision together about which widget is best! I personally dislike using Rafflecopter, it’s very unfriendly on the back end and has extremely limited options. Giveaway Tools has been having technical difficulties and has failed to respond to my requests (and I am a paying user!), soooo don’t pick that one. I like PromoSimple I think and if everyone likes it too, I might consider bumping it up to paid for refer-a-friend entries if everyone loves it. But if readers just want Rafflecopter, I’ll do it! (Though I note tonight it seems to have some server issues…)

UPDATE: Giveaway Tools got back to me with profuse apologies. I’ll now consider continuing to use them but I have an open mind about which of these 3 to use right now.

Ends midnight (end of the day) on November 27. So hopefully the winner can get her gift certificate for Black Friday shopping! Thank you so much, and feel free to tell me anything else you want! Unicorns, rainbows, etc.!

I’m used to Rafflecopter, since so many sites use it, but the others are ok too. I’m with those who don’t like having to paste the twitter url after tweeting, but it’s not a big deal. I’d say use whichever is easiest on your end.

I like promo simple. Rafflecopter is fine but I dislike that you have to manually add the twitter url after tweeting.

I think I might like PromoSimple the best, but I don’t have a strong preference either way. Whichever one is easiest/best on your end would be the one I would be behind 🙂

Not to be indecisive, but I really think it’s a toss up. GT is pretty straight forward for the user, but poor customer service would definitely rule it out in my book. RC is easy and simple to use, even if you have to copy and paste to verify entry a lot more. PS is different… it’s not used as much and therefore I feel like I’d need to try it out more as a user and see if it’s got weird quirks before saying it beats out the other two. That being said, one doesn’t deter me more than another. They’re all different tools to basically get the same job done. 🙂

GT has apologized profusely now. They had a denial of service attack and it looks like they didn’t get my emails. I’m considering sticking with them, they are going to check out the technical details today and get back to me tonight. I was surprised to see the GT love to be honest, because I’ve never heard from users that they like it. I’m pondering hard. I have heard ONE person on a fb group say I won’t enter anything but RC, which I thought there would be a lot more of. Even though I sometimes put annoying entries on the stuff I give away personally I like it to be as easy as possible. If you notice I use as little verification as possible. I like the auto verification and as far as comments etc go, I can figure it out when I pull the winner. I don’t really advertise my giveaways a whole lot (and actually GT does that for me), and I want readers to be happy 🙂

BTW for people wondering, PS is almost twice as expensive as GT for the premium features I like and refer-a-friend on RC is $60/month, which is more than my hosting. So *that* won’t ever be happening.

Thanks for your feedback, sorry for the book in return!

I liked the PromoSimple one tho I think this is the first time I have seen it. Rafflecopter is buggy for me at times.

My favorite way to enter is Rafflecopter. I just feel it’s much easier for me. I’m sorry to hear that it’s more difficult on your end, though. 🙁

I’m guessing Giveaway Tools is the one you’ve been using. It’s too bad you’re having problems because I prefer that to Rafflecopter for one reason. I have found that if a Daily entry (come back and click again tomorrow) is included Rafflecopter doesn’t appear to count that in your final total.

For example: If I enter your Rafflecopter Giveaway today and gain 12 entries it reads 12/17 entries. If you had an free entry every day option and I come back tomorrow and click on it the counter shows the change (say 13/17) but when you come back the third day the counter is back to showing 12/17. I verified with another person who uses Rafflecopter that it is counting the entries on the back end but I find it confusing to person entering that it does it that way.

I’m not familiar with any other contest widget but I’m sure you’ll pick the better one.

That’s interesting to know! I prefer the look/feel of RC & PromoSimple (which I think plays a huge role in whether someone actually enters the giveaway). PS is much friendlier to the organizer on the backend than RC in my opinion.

I like GT, rafflecopter is okay, but I have trouble with PromoSimple – It loaded before, but isn’t loading right now? I tried my computer, a surface RT, and my cell phone – not working. I really like the Project DIY giveaway too!

Hmmm. I don’t recall editing that post, but PS’s code gets mangled if you open the post. (hate that). fixed now (i note here that i’ve had someone working on my site and perhaps he opened it? something…). Besides that issue, let me know what you think!

I do NOT like having everyone have to paste their tweets. I liked GT too, it has great features, but…
