I’m sharing with you today a genius way to organize your hotel room for a long stay! GENIUS! For our long vacation, here’s what I packed! For me, this is totally extreme! I usually travel with one small carry-on bag for the kids & I (plus a backpack that I carry, the kids’ backpacks, and one totebag). But just one carry-on suitcase. We take the Metro (subway) to the airport, and after I have done all of the work getting the suitcase there, you’d better believe I’m not paying someone to stick it under the plane for me! As we generally travel at least once a month, it adds up! But this trip, I have a free suitcase (actually 3), and a week+ stay. I’m taking a big one!
So what are we taking? Basically everything! Here’s a shot of the toiletries I set out to pack!
As you can see, I’ve thought of everything! And to be honest, most everything here will not be coming home with us. It’s either going to be used up at the end of the trip or the half-empty containers will be left with a friend. But this is a lot of stuff. And how will we ever keep it organized in our hotel room?

It holds everything, minus a few items (see closeups the black dresses of my Ipsy medicine bag and what I take as my “liquids” bag) below! Once you’ve packed all your items, slip out the hanger rod, fold it in half, and slip it into a giant Ziploc bag! I use the Ziploc XL bag and you can add one on your subscribe & save order. A few items will invariably wiggle their way out of the pockets, so just carefully unfold, tuck them back in, and you’re all set. I organize all like items together so it’s easy to put everything back where it belongs and my hotel room won’t look like a nightmare every day. I slipped an extra XL Ziploc bag into my suitcase for the laundry.
When you return home, all you have to do is hang it back up on your towel rod and unpack at your leisure. Easy. And no getting stressed that you haven’t put all your travel items away.

This basically holds all our “medicine” items for the trip! I take lots of stomach things so nobody gets stinky.
My airplane liquids bag: eye goo, hand goo, some lotion, sunblock, and face sprays. The face sprays keep our faces moist and the kids busy!
