Paper Pumpkin sent me this subscription box for my review.

Paper Pumpkin  is one of the subscriptions I have just been dying to try, so I was super excited when Stampin’ Up! sent me one for review! Stamping and paper crafts are the kinds of crafts I wish I had the creativity to come up with something myself… but I just don’t! I’ve tried, I promise. When I’m stressed out I like to do a craft, it just seems to help release all the bad ju-ju. And my daughter won’t even go to bed unless we’ve crafted that day so I always have to have some sort of project on hand! We did this one together!

It’s not surprising that Paper Pumpkin has adorable packaging! I love that the card says thank you! It doesn’t have any information on the craft – that’s all inside!

After unwrapping everything, these were the contents of my kit. As far as I know, this is the 16.95 try me option, which is a slightly smaller kit than you’ll get with the monthly option.

Tada! The craft! It’s a note/memo roll. My 90 year old grandma has one of these boards and whoooa did this bring me back!

The instructions The instructions are very brief, and to be honest, I had a ton of questions. As far as I know, these kits are not for hardcore stampers. I did not, for example, understand the acetate sheet/stickers for the stamps. The last time I did any stamping I used velcro. These instructions would be better if they were written for newbies. And I would have caught on a little quicker if I wasn’t trying to put the sticker on a circular stamp!

I finally figured it out. The sticker gets applied permanently to the stamp. It adheres through the magic of friction to the acrylic block.

We applied the ink to the stamp.

And created! I did find this a bit of an odd craft for stamping to be honest. I would have to keep my stamps at the ready every time I made a new note. Never going to happen! But I will totally use this board and probably replace the really super cute paper roll with register tape? I’m guessing this roll is something Stampin’ Up! sells?

My daughter really enjoyed using the memo board to create notes. She drew a strawberry ice cream cone with a cherry on top (no check – didn’t eat it!). And a pizza (check!!! we went to Costco that day!).

You can choose a demonstrator near you when you sign up for Paper Pumpkin.  I did totally enjoy making this craft, I loved that it wasn’t too complicated, but I really would like to try the full month’s box (this was a trial box, which I didn’t realize) before deciding if it was for me or not.  One of the things I really liked about this kit (and it would be true of any of their kits) is that the main parts – the stamps and the ink – will still be there after the consumables are gone!
The good news is that one of you gets to try out this unique craft subscription too! This kit does not come with an acrylic block but you can actually do the craft without it! [Giveaway has ended]  See all the paper & stationery subscription boxes in the directory!
