October’s Birchbox is all about the buzz – what products are the hottest! I admit that I hadn’t heard of at least one of these products, so the buzz must be early! :) Shall I note that one of the products on the Birchbox hotlist appeared in Blush Mystery Beauty Box last month? I shall! (psst it’s the Racinne)IMG_0481

October 2013 Birchbox Beauty Buzz

I’ve been plagued with embarrasingly terrible photos today. Nevertheless, this fabulous information card tells you that October is all about the buzz and to check out the Birchbox Magazine for all the hot trends.

The four products in my box, plus a note to look in the baggie for my Birchbox find. Thank goodness they are back, I love the little mass-market extras. They are often my favorite products in the box. I didn’t snap the baggie. It’s a Birchbox baggie. It was pretty. It’s still a baggie.

DDF Wrinkle Resist Plus Pore Minimizer Moisturizing Serum ($25) This is quite a substantial sample! This is a pre-makeup serum and I’m basically going to call it an ultra makeup primer, with extra vitamins & peptides.

Shea Terra Organics Rose Hips Black Soap Deep Pore Facial Cleanser ($4) Apparently Birchbox thinks I have pore issues this month. I don’t. At all! Weird. Anyways, I’ve tried this one and don’t quite see what the fuss is about and I didn’t like to have it set for 5 minutes. But it could work for you and that’s why we try it.

theBalm Stainiac – beauty queen ($2.50) I was totally happy about this! I love having an applicator and I felt the size was way better than last month’s Jouer.

Alison Raffaele Reality Base Foundation ($38 full size) I was happy to see a foundation instead of another beauty balm! This dried to a most wonderful finish. I want to say powdery, but that isn’t right. It was SILKY! It still is hours later. I can’t value it, no size on the bottle

ChapStick Hydration Lock ($3) I was happy with this because it didn’t irritate my lips, as ChapStick usually does. Not sure if it plumped them but it’s a decent low-priced lip balm with a nice smell.

My October Birchbox was worth at least $35 and probably over $40. I don’t think I was really like OMGEEEE floored by any of the products – except perhaps the foundation – but I was pretty happy with my box and will be happily sampling all month.

Check out all my Birchbox Reviews! Don’t forget to take a look at other Beauty Subscription Boxes.
