wednesday

Whew, It’s Wednesday. Housekeeping all around. I got my hair cut – the first to do on my Vermont list…. because how are you supposed to get your hair cut when you have nobody to watch your kids? It’s not like they’d sit there patiently while someone cuts my hair, you know?

The radio station in my car (car for a week, YAY!) is tuned to the awesomest classic rock. I jammed the whole way to the salon. Like hair rock. PLUS 80s music. Think Van Halen, Depeche Mode, and Frankie Goes to Hollywood. All on one station. And ZZ Top. Yeah good times!!!

Then I came home and took this totally epic 3 hour nap. I’m still so tired I could go back to sleep! But instead I did a bunch of blog housekeeping and tweaking. I ALMOST have the RSS/Newsletter patched back up, ummmm you just can’t see the middle part of the review? You know, the important part. Whatever. Right now I’m pretty happy with everything although it’s taken a lot of adjustment. Now I’m kind of sort of epically behind in blog stuff, but whatever! I’ll get caught up?  If you see something that looks stupid, can you tell me?

Unfortunately the meeting with the Vermont Snacks people didn’t work out. Bummer.

I feel zero guilt about being gleefully child-free during daylight hours for once. When you are around the kids ALL DAY EVERY DAY WITHOUT ANOTHER PARENT you absolutely get to the point where you can’t stand their little voices any more however sweet. Because there is never ever a moment of silence.

I’ve eaten half a package of Cabot since we got here. It’s okay as long as I’m in Vermont, right? I just snuck a piece from the fridge. YUM.

My mother in law constantly insists that my children are sooooo tired and they will go to bed right away. No MIL, they never do.

I love Vermont. We have vacationed thee a few times (living in NY we aren’t too far away). Love Cabot and Lake Champlain chocolate! And Ben and Jerry’s. I’m not sure where in Vermont you are, but if you on the Western Side I highly recommend http://www.shelburnefarms.org/visit/childrens-farmyard

My inlaws think I am a freak because I don’t like Ben & Jerry’s. except Festivus flavor, which is my all time fave. Go figure. Last time we went to Shelburne Farms my daughter got duck poop in her hair!!! We are goin to the museum this weekend, skipping the farms. Not sure. We have free passes.

I need to run by Price Choppers and get some chocolate. So I stop eating those stupid chocolate chips.

It is amazing to be away from the kids even if it’s for only a few hours. I hate being at work because I would rather be at home but when I’m home I would rather be at work because the kids drive me crazy. I totally get where you’re coming from. 🙂

Whew not just me!!! The last couple months have been really tough. My husband was hoping for a permanent offer but the company he works for is just doing contractors in that division, so we are sticking with what we are doing now. It is so not easy to be around them all the time!

I am going to go eat more cheese now!

Cabot is the best cheese! It’s a collective of farmers from Vermont Nd upstate New York and they make amazing cheeses (ESP aged sharp cheddar) and Greek yogurt and all that!
