This post on the ThredUP terms change is a must read. In particular,
So with all that being said, we will no longer be accepting and reselling items which cannot be listed at an initial price of at least $6.49. This translates to roughly a $15 MSRP item for kids and a $25 MSRP item for women.
Now I had a bag payout that included sixty cents for this fabulous Lands End girls’ Skort, which ThredUP priced at 3.99. It sold immediately! The MSRP on that is well above $15. This is really troubling to me. Not only did I get so little money on this item that it was laughable but next time they’ll just take it for themselves. This item was rated as practically new by the ThredUP team.
I have grave concerns about continuing to send items in to ThredUP. If you have another option (I don’t really, which is why I use it), I would suggest you use it for any children’s clothing that might be considered lower priced. I appreciate the fact they are trying to get rid of the cheapy items clogging their system, but I am sending in really quality stuff and not getting a lot for it. I do not have this same concern with women’s clothing at all, because it tends to be higher priced.
That being said, ThredUP continues to be an excellent option for shopping. Because they are selling my nice, barely used clothes really cheap! Right now get $15 off your first order by using promo code JUNE15 on ThredUP! (until June 21)
