May Julep Maven: Set the Stage
This month’s Julep Maven boxes are inspired by the roaring twenties and I have to say I love the style and the colors. I love how Julep did a complete 180 from last month, which I loved so much too! (here’s the link to April Maven and yes… because of vacay I never did any more pictures up, maybe I’ll do a photo dump?).
This month’s add-on is Etta, an Art Deco peridot metallic. It’s very pretty and I think it will go with (hopefully artificially) more tan skin during the summer.
I’m not crazy about It Girl’s glitter – probably because they don’t show it on top of something. Is it just me, or are Julep’s swatch pictures always super unflattering?
Classic With a Twist is perfect for those needing classic only colors. Not for moi!
I love the Gabrielle mulberry color in Bombshell, but… The champagne would look terrible on me. I am definitely putting Gabrielle as an add-on.
I have said before that I have ZERO desire to get a polish-free box from Julep. The American Beauty box is actually a pretty decent value, but really? I just don’t get it.
Boho Glam is my pick this month! Duh. I’m crazy about purple. I LOVE the Millie Indigo Creme. But I would rather have the OTHER lip trio. Sigh.

Yikes, by the time I got done I totally changed my mind. I’m getting the Bombshell and adding on the Millie. I don’t look good in orangey colors. I’m a classic jewel tone friendly skin tone.
