Hey, this promo has been so popular, they ran out of boxes… For now! Check the Juniper post listing for the latest offer[/box]
Juniper is a time of the month box. I’m really hesitant about TOM boxes. Once you are a mom and have birthed one or more children, there is no pampering. You just want to get it over so you can get on with your crazy life. I like Amazon Subscribe & Save for feminine products. But in the name of science and free boxes, I’m giving this one a shot. Plus, Juniper has excellent excellent customer service, which made me super-duper-happy.
How does Juniper work?
When you sign up with Juniper you tell it anything special about your period and your preferred products. Once a subscriber you can text Juniper your start and stop dates. Personally I keep track of this in a calendar on my Mac and I don’t find it to be problematic to keep track of my own period.
Juniper comes with your products, treats and indulgences, and things to make your period easier (can you also send earplugs?). I don’t use Midol so I didn’t ask for that. I also selected not to receive backup products with my tampons because I rarely, if ever, use them. If I did I have a box of them.
My signup experience
I told my Juniper BFF (your personal period consultant) when emailed that I basically only use super & light tampons and nothing in between. This is what my Juniper BFF wrote
Cool – I got you down for the following:
10 Playtex Gentle Glide Light Tampons
10 Playtex Gentle Glide Super Tampons
and it looks like you opted out of any pads or pantyliners, and also no for Midol, correct? Anything else you’d like to add to this box? For example if you think you’d need more Super tampons each time, let me know. 🙂
Sounded right to the point. Today I got a shipping email (fast!)
Here’s what you can expect in this package:
4 Playtex Gentle Glide Light Tampons
10 Playtex Gentle Glide Regular Tampons
10 Playtex Gentle Glide Super Tampons
3 Always Infinity Regular Pads
2 Always Infinity Overnight Pads
5 Always Infinity Liners
4 Midol Painkillers
and our V-Day treats collection!
Please let me know if you want to make any changes to the list of products I’m including. I can still tweak the contents in this box in the next 24 hours. Otherwise, be on the lookout for a fabulous package from Juniper!
Ummm, what? I was very confused. [But read on] But I was also psyched I could email my brand new BFF back to tell her about why this sucked.
I wrote back (so loquacious, but right to the point as always):
NO infinity pads. HATE. i don’t really use pads. i don’t need them.
don’t use midol.
As much as I like free stuff, I hate waste. Hate it. And I also hate those stupid Infinity pads because they don’t stick to your underwear (maybe I am just a muppet and incapable of using them properly). Also, I use Aleve or Ibuprofen. I guess Midol has a bunch of types but the one I’m familiar with uses acetaminophen (Tylenol), and that does zero.
OMG Juniper is so nice! I love my new BFF!
So I wrote back. It turns out that their automated system had just sent me this email. The outcome was great though. After hearing about my insane Infinity pad hatred (they don’t stick and they are super big), she is sending me a couple brands of liners and checking on the Midol type – and perhaps stocking more for the future use of different customers.
THANKS JUNIPER BFF! I am way suitably impressed. WAY. This is the best customer service I have had from a subscription box. I feel a lot better 1) about talking about my period with you all and my pad hatred and 2) signing up for a period subscription box. I thought the willingness to expand their offerings was extremely responsive and I was really happy with that.
AND ZOMG HOW MUCH DO WE LOVE THAT THE THUMBNAIL TO THIS POST SAYS NIP???
