Developing our question skills at the mall

This weekend when we went to the mall we took the opportunity to encourage A to develop a little bit of  independence and get some practice being polite and asking questions (in the mall – supervised of course!). She loves to go to Bath & Body Works and try on the sparkly stuff. I had her ask the salesperson for her recommendations. We were so thrilled that the B&BW worker was so courteous as to walk her through the store’s new items, place each on a sample card, and encouraged her to select her favorite. I told A to write a letter to the Easter Bunny if she had any requests.

We do need to work a little more on speaking up and looking others in the face when talking to them but it was just the sweetest experience. I will definitely encourage her to do this more often. This is a great way to develop confidence, especially for preschoolers not in a group daycare environment.
