#1 Hello Subscription Has a New Website!

Obviously the biggest news of the past two weeks! If you see anything funny totally drop us a comment here. We’re really excited about the new look and hope you are too. Every week for the next several weeks we’re going to highlight a new feature/functionality on the site, so stay tuned!

Try it now – see the bell? if you want to make sure you add weekly subscription box news to your email notifications, hit the bell on the top of this post! It might look a little different depending on your screen size, but the bell will notify you of new posts about any box (and sometimes we set up notifications for posts like these).

You can edit what kind and how many notifications you get in your account notification preferences. Finally, if you have any ideas for new features, do let us know!

#2 Michelle Phan Has Left The Building!

Michelle Phan has bought out Em Cosmetics from Ipsy and left the subscription for good. Is she totally out of the subscription commerce world? We’ll see! Peace out Michelle – read more on the business side at TechCrunch about the new focus on ipsy Shopper.

CEO Marcelo Camberos said the company is launching Shopper, a way for ipsy’s customers to buy products directly from the site rather than wait for them to show up in their monthly Glam Bag. Now, instead of just waiting for the five beauty products in the mail every month, its users will be able to buy products from a myriad of brands on the site directly — opening up a much wider swath of the beauty industry to ipsy, which last raised $100 million about two years ago.

I don’t know about you, but I like my products ipsy bag inexpensive, so we’ll see how that goes.  That nail polish is more than the cost of my monthly bag! Speaking of monthly bags, ipsy no longer has sample choice but has a new skip a month feature that you have to email in about. With all that money you’d think they could program in a button on the site. but maybe they’re testing a chatbot army…
