This Limited Edition Harry’s Men’s Starter Shave Set has everything you need for an exceptional shave with Harry’s.
The moulded insert keeps everything in place and presentable — reminds me a bit of the aftershave and cologne sets that line department store shelves around the holidays. I am thankful for the absence of squiggles.
The box came with a coupon for Harry’s that you can use on Target.com. This one gives you four free blades when you subscribe to Harry’s. If you also grabbed this box, redeem your promo code here.
Everything in this box! This box has the following items:
- 1 Razor Blade Cartridge
- 1 Rubberized Grip Handle
- 1 Foaming Shave Gel
- 1 Post Shave Balm Sample
- 1 Daily Face Wash Sample
- 1 Travel Razor Blade Cover
FYI – when this box was released (and when we purchased it), the website clearly noted TWO razor blades were included. The box that is available now (and the one received) included only one.
Travel Razor Blade Cover ($1): This simple, low-cost item is actually quite useful. It protects your blade and has holes to allow full drying while stored — I love that it prevents me from grabbing an exposed blade while rummaging around in my Dopp kit. A tiny Harry’s Mammoth can be seen inside, too. These come free when you purchase a Harry’s razor at Target!
Post Shave Balm (sample): Aloe infused formula for soothing razor burn and irritation. I didn’t even need this, as the blades didn’t irritate me at all.
Daily Face Wash (sample): This exfoliating wash is guaranteed to perk you up in the morning, as it has a pleasantly cool mixture of peppermint and eucalyptus.
Foaming Shave Gel ($3): I enjoyed this formulation quite a bit. It has a silky texture and a great fragrance — It’s fairly intense while your face is coated with the cream, but once shaved and rinsed, it has a much more restrained sillage akin to a properly applied eau de toilette. The fragrances is a masculine combo of musk, leather, spice, and wood.
The gel leaves the can in condensed form. A mound covering the area of a quarter is sufficient for any face.
Once agitated, it expands greatly. The texture remains thicker, and clings to your face better, than products that foam directly from the can (e.g. Barbasol).
Razor Blade Cartridge ($2): The kit comes with a five-bladed razor head. I had a few days growth when I shaved with the kit, and I thought the blades were great. They were sharp enough that they didn’t tug at all, but they also didn’t have any tinny, over-sharp feel, either. I had no irritation, and no nicks at all.
Rubberized Grip Handle ($7): The handle has a quick release for easily changing blade cartridges.
The rubberized handle is textured for a better grip. I liked the shape and width of the handle. It felt so natural in my hand that I didn’t think about it at all while using the razor.
The cover snaps easily over the blades while letter moisture escape.
I thought this box was really useful and it was a great value! By my estimates it’s more like $15 instead of $20 (razor set $10 + 1 blades $2 + shave gel $3 + samples) but you get 4 free blades if you want to keep on shaving with this system.
Currently the Men’s Starter Shaving Set by Harry’s is still available for $5! The page says free with Target Red Card but it looks to be free shipping at checkout for everyone!

Showed my mini-Target card but no-one at Target knew what it meant.
They are for redeeming online.
Hi there… I tried to order the Harry’s shaver starter kit for $5 at Target… says “not available”… Darn! I’ll keep checking…. I hope I’ll be able to get two for my sons. Thank you for the great info.
