Bluum is a subscription box service that sends products for moms and babies to your home each month. Bluum curates its boxes by selecting the highest-rated products geared for a child’s particular age. Boxes are available for pregnant moms and moms with children between the ages of 0 and 5.

Each box arrives well-packaged with attractive tissue paper and a card describing the box’s intended recipient–in this case, a 21 month old child.

After receiving flip flops intended for boys last month, I went back into my Bluum account and filled out as much of the profile as I could. I noted my preference to receive books and toys each month and I asked not to receive any products related to babyproofing, nursing or feeding. Let’s see how they did!

Alas, no books or toys. Bummer. Still, the enclosed products looked interesting.

I’m not sure what the quote about July has to do with the contents of my box, but I like the picture. Do the pictures every month feature boys? So far, I’m two for two. It’s just a bit strange, especially since this box is for my daughter.

This Nature’s Baby Organics Vanilla Tangerine Conditioner ($10.95) contains at least 70% organic ingredients. It’s free of sls, parabens and glutens and is also hypoallergenic. Cruelty-free, it has never been tested on animals. Effective as either a leave-in conditioner or a rinse out conditioner, this promises to leave your baby (or you!) with silky hair.

These Dapple Fragrance-Free Booster Pods ($13.48) will help you get spit-up, poop and food mush stains out of your laundry. Just pop one directly into your tub and wash with your regular detergent using either warm or hot water.

I think these Stephen Joseph Frog Socks ($3.90) are absolutely adorable! My daughter always needs more socks, so these were a welcome addition. My only concern is that they’re sized for kiddos who wear size 4-6 shoes. My daughter wears a 6.5 wide right now. After washing these socks, I could just barely get them on my daughter’s feet. If I’m lucky, they may last a couple of weeks. I wish Bluum had sent us the next size up.

While I love the idea of a sun hat for the summer, this Banz Baby Sun Hat ($18) is way too small for my daughter. It’s not even close to fitting. The brand says it’s sized for kiddos 0-2 years of age, so I guess I can’t really fault Bluum, but it’s still frustrating.

This is the second month in a row that Bluum has sent me items that come in different sizes, and they’ve missed the size mark each time. It would be nice if there were a way we could communicate about sizes. An email, perhaps? Or maybe a place in my profile? I’d love to actually be able to use the items sent to me each month!

Thanks for letting me know! I’ve received Bluum for 3 months too, and my experience has been mixed. Thus far, I have had them surprise me each month (June, July and August). I’ve received a product intended for boys ( I have a daughter), and none of the sized items I’ve received have fit well (one way too big, another way too small and the last fit her for about a week). What’s more, I’ve asked for an emphasis on books and toys, which hasn’t panned out. That being said, I did select my items for September (one toy, two books and glitter glue–not all technically “age appropriate,” but my daughter will use them all happily). Now that I’ve read about your experience, I’ll certainly keep my fingers crossed that I receive what I thought I reserved! I’m not sure what you’re especially interested in, but if it’s toys and books, I love Bumby Box https://hellosubscription.com/subscription-box-reviews/bumby-box-reviews/ ! I’ve received four boxes from them and have loved every single one! For cleaning and baby bath supplies, I use the Honest Company https://boxes.hellosubscription.com/subscription-box/honest-company/ and have been very happy with their products and service (for 4+ years).

I have to say I’ve had the worst experience with Bluum. I subscribed 3 months ago for a 3-month subscription and they’ve disappointed me each and every month. I chose my items and for the 1st box ALL of the items I chose became “unavailable” at shipment time so I was sent a surprise box that was very disappointing. I wrote customer service to find out what was going on and they responded and apologized and assured me that I’d get all of my next month’s chosen items. Month 2, surprise, surprise… all my choices again unavailable and I got another “surprise box”. After contacting CS again they did extend my sub by an additional month for my inconvenience. Move forward to month 3. I chose my items and waited patiently. Last Friday evening (2 days before shipment) I received an email that all of my items had become unavailable… AGAIN! Monday I received an email that the box contained no items and gave me 2 options… extend another month or log in and choose 4 items to be shipped within 5-7 days. So I logged in to make my choices. In the toy category there were 4 different glitter glues (3 years + up); a 5th glitter (3 years + up); stickers (3 years + up) and 2 infant toys (3-11 months). Come on now, the recipient of this box is 11 months old and none of those are age-appropriate for her. There are no choices in the clothing category and the rest of the choices in the other categories are very disappointing.
I’m very surprised to see glowing reviews for Bluum. I’ve been a subscriber for 3-months and they’ve messed it up for all 3 months. I’m usually not a complainer and I’ve been a subscription box junkie for over 3 years. Bluum… why give me choices when it’s obvious that I really don’t have any?
