About the Artisan:
Your necklace results from a cascade of life-altering events for its maker Denia. As a child, Denia was diagnosed with a life-threatening heart condition that local medical missionaries were unable to contend with. Years later, two sympathetic volunteers from the States enlisted a world-renowned physician to complete the procedure that saved Denia’s life, and then welcomed her into their Florida home for her long recovery. During this time, Denia discovered her friend Julie’s art studio and learned from her how to make and sell jewelry. Upon her return to Honduras, Denia gained full-time work with the artisan collective Mi Esperanza.
Materials: Brass.
Measurements: 16″ in length.
Care instructions: Care for your brass necklace is up to you. Do you like an aged, patina look, or prefer bright and shiny? If shiny is your thing, periodically soak the necklace in a mixture of water and lemon juice for five minutes, then rinse thoroughly, dry, and wear!
