Nerd Block June 2016 Subscription Box Review + Coupon

Nerd Block is a monthly mystery geek & gamer subscription box. Every month includes a new shirt and Nerd Block boxes are typically filled with fun toys and figurines and other geek accessories. It really is a box for everyone who enjoys nerdy and pop culture things.

Everything in the June box! Right off the bat this box looked amazing!

Goonies Rolled Map: This is just SO cool! The map came rolled up in a sturdy cardboard tube, and you can see that even the back has an aged look on the edges.

It’s a Goonies map! I think this is a super cool item, and love that it’s vinyl instead of paper. It’s a great cosplay or costume item if you don’t want to display it. This map had obvious immediate use for my family – the kids nabbed it for a treasure map for pirate pretend play!

Harry Potter Gryffindor Bookmark ($9) This is a fantastic well-made bookmark with a super solid cast and enameled Gryffindor crest.

It may be the nicest bookmark I own! I love the design.

Place the page in between the two pieces of plastic and your crest is proudly displayed above your pages!

I was ridiculously impressed that even the back was fancy. Seriously! This is a really nice bookmark!

Nerd Block Exclusive ShirtPunch The Legend of Zelda T-Shirt: Link reflected through a Rupee! There were 3 colors – red, blue, and green. Must be a reference to Tri-Force Heroes where there are 3 Links!

There’s also a $10 coupon included when you purchase from ShirtPunch! After you use your code SAVE YOUR CARD – you have to try to collect all 9 pieces to get a completed puzzle and get a $100 card. I’m betting there will be only a few linchpin puzzle pieces. I got the same puzzle piece on the back as my Sci-Fi Block.

Shirt Punch has shirts as low as $10 (shipping $4 I think), so you can get a shirt around $4, which is an awesome deal, but I love the daily bundles they have!  The screenshot I’m including here doesn’t actually show the Sailor Moon Bundle, because it sold out. The shirt + Pop was only $15. That’s ok, I’m getting the LOVE (Pride) shirt anyways! I usually hate things I have to spend extra money on, but I’m totally ok with spending $4 for a shirt or about $9 for a shirt + Pop.

Nerd Block Exclusive Ghostbusters Tobin’s Spirit Guide: My husband and I just turned into slobbering supergeeks over this book. It’s TOTALLY cool and one of the best box items we have seen yet!

The idea, content, and graphics for this book are just amazing! A frequently used tome at Ray’s Occult Bookstore in the IDW series, Tobin’s Spirit Guide contains references to all the spirits one might encounter.

This reminded us a lot of Supernatural, and we thought that it would be mega cool if the boys picked up a copy for an episode. It would be a really cool tip of the hat. Anyways, this is a fun and awesome exclusive.

Funko Dorbz: Guardians Of The Galaxy Star-Lord Action Figure ($5.76) Yay, Dorbz! Subscribers got either Star-Lord or Groot!

Here are all of the Dorbz in this series. Sooo many to collect (including The Collector!). 

Great features, great character, fun box item!

Nerd Block Exclusive Shire Post Mint Game of Thrones Exclusive Coin: This is really a neat item – it’s minted especially for this box (and officially licensed – which got my husband & I thinking what would happen to this franchise when Martin passes – he is married but has no issue and would they license the books for future derivatives, will they form a trust to benefit the wolves, who knows… I’m personally very fascinated, but I digress..). One side shows the pyramid and “Breaker of chains” the other shows Daenerys Targaryen Queen of Meereen, and Dany in front of her 3 dragons. I checked out Shire Post’s site and may not be able to resist the Valar Morghulis Necklace!! They also have a page showing you how the coins are made!

The June box hit all my geek spots just right and I thought it was one of the best boxes they have ever put together!  It totally rocked. Check out the spoilers for July’s Nerd Block here.
