Bombfell Review & Coupon – April 2016

Bombfell is a men’s clothing and personal styling subscription service. You get sent the clothing, can try it on at home, and then figure out what you love and want to purchase. It’s an excellent service for a busy guy.

Everything arrives neatly packaged. When shipped in a box, everything typically comes separately bagged to keep it nice.

Every package comes with a return label.   The idea is you keep only what you love — usually you end up with 1-3 of the pieces (depending how many you order) finding a home in your closet.

Here’s what we got in this month’s box!  I chose two pieces for this month (you can select it in your profile).

Original Penguin by Munsingwear P55 Stretch Blazer (£120, roughly $172.49 – $195 to keep):  This jacket is very versatile, and it makes a great substitute for a sport jacket.  The material is a heavy cotton like a barn jacket, but the styling is more professorial.  It is unlined and weighted well for use as a NorCal evening jacket — it can be layered for winter or be worn as a coat in more temperate months.

Sons of Fortune Oxford Shirt ($89 – $69 to keep):  I like the color and texture of this shirt.  It is a great heavy weight office shirt.  Rather than comprising a single color thread, the light green is a result of using green and white for the warp and weft, so it shifts tone depending on that with which it is paired.  It has pleated button cuffs and a short, neck-elongating collar. This is an XXL and runs very small, as noted by my stylist. I doubt I’ve ever seen an item of clothing run this small, but Bombfell easily matched the correct size to my measurements.

I absolutely love the convenience of Bombfell.  The clothes are pre-filtered to match my style preferences, so there is a good chance I’ll really like my selections.  The fit on most of the brands carried by Bombfell is relatively tailored, so they can be a tad too fitted at the chest.  I liked the styling on these pieces, but I’m a little bulky at the moment and found the fit across the chest a little snug.  I’m returning these (and updating my measurements), since I only keep what I really like — I can’t wait to see my next selections.
