The theme for February is Rise and Shine. Reading the letter on the side of the box sets the mood.
For some, morning is a lot like…bumper bowling. For others, it’s a cottony cave crawled through toward coffee. Whatever the case, when we offer ourselves that precious and occasional gift of not rushing, we discover that the wash of sleep has left us clean, soft, and receptive to simple, sensual AM pleasures. Like that ray of sunlight fanned out across the kitchen floor. Like each of the items in this month’s kit…
Time to look at the mini-version!
I decided to surprise myself this month and did not peek at the spoilers. I can tell it is something breakable.
I received a few baskets made by Don Juan and recognized his work right away.
My 7-year-old and I read the story about our new Qamara ceramic bowl. We also located Tunisia on the map.
The item for the February’s Benefit Basket is the Le Souk Hand-Painted Bowl. I noticed that the basket this month is larger than usual.
GlobeIn Signature Palm Leaf Basket from Oaxaca, Mexico ($12) I wasn’t able to find the link for the Don Juan Baskets. His baskets cost a little more money. The basket on the left is the basket I received this month. The Don Juan Basket on the right is the typical size that I receive from GlobeIn. I received that basket in October 2015.
Le Souk Ceramique is located in Nabeul, Tunisia. Each artist is assigned a task. The artist above painted the dots on the bowl.
Le Souk Ceramique Qamara Hand Painted Bowl ($14) Can you see the deep sea creatures? The Qamara design draws you in until you see them.
The bowl is a perfect size to be used as a fruit bowl. I love the color and design.
Looking at the imprint reminded me that I have a Le Souk Ceramique soup bowl from the October 2015 GlobeIn Box. That month we could pick a tall mug or soup bowl. I decided not to chose and received a soup bowl.
Here are the two items together. The left side is the soup bowl from the October 2015 “Cozy” box. The right side is the Bowl from this month’s box.
My family always enjoys GlobeIn. The boys pronounced the bowl perfect for eating popcorn. I am going to show the basket to my sister to see if she wants to use it. It’s a little larger and sturdier than the other baskets I’ve received in the past. Otherwise, I will use it for something. The bowl is beautiful. The Benefit Basket is still available for ordering. Don’t miss out! You can also check out our review of the full February Globein Artisan Gift box.
