I love how Olfactif has been mixing it’s themes up lately! This month it’s three offerings from one perfumer!

I was truly excited when I saw the theme and premise for September. I am by no means a fragrance expert but it’s a sensual experience that I think anyone that likes to smell good things and smell good can really enjoy. 

Swiss perfumer Andy Tauer is a legend. His scents have been called “fragrant sculptures,” have received rave critical reviews, and have opened up many an eye (and nose) to the wonders of niche perfume.

That’s why we love Tauerville, the line that Andy describes as “a playground for innovative ideas presented with a down-to-earth approach.” It’s his creative outlet, where he can try out whatever new ideas he wants, how he wants, and when he wants.

The September Theme is Welcome to Tauerville!

• Rose Flash: I was a bit apprehensive for this one because I am not a huge fan of rose, although I do generally enjoy a very natural rose blended in something. This was entirely different and the greens really shone through the rose and transformed it into something entirely different! It ended up being my very favorite scent. This would work very well as a unisex – unusual because of the rose.
• Vanilla Flash:  I expected to like this one best solely based on the name. I definitely liked it and there was a strong hit of Bourbon vanilla right off the top which dried off into a nice spicy fragrance.
• Incense Flash: I thought by the description this would be very masculine and I wasn’t surprised to find that it was! The leather was a very true leather – perhaps the most true that I’ve ever smelled in a fragrance and that was warm and comforting, and probably helped along in that true smell by the undercurrents of incense flowing throughout. It was a little like church but it wasn’t cloying. Very unique.

This single-artist box was like a gallery exhibition for fragrance! Absolutely wonderful. We love this subscription.
