The Remedy Rush Subscription Box Review – August 2015 Autumn Box

The Remedy Rush is a premium artisan and eco-friendly quarterly bath, body, and spa subscription box! Every item in the box is artisan crafted and seasonally appropriate and selected to provide you with the perfect “remedies” for your wellness journey. It has a fantastic seasonal theme, is always cruelty-free, and all the items are curated with attention to natural and organic ingredients and recyclable or biodegradable packaging. Each box includes 7-10 artisan spa and body products – no cosmetics or makeup. You’ll get a new box with each season – because your body needs different care for every season of the year!

The box comes with a curator’s note about the change of each season. This is the Autumn box and focuses on nurturing yourself when time is short (both as the days grow shorter and we get busier with our fall routines!).

I absolutely loved the remedy/prescription theme. The card gives your seasonal “prescription” and details the items, what they’ll do for you, why there were selected, and even gives promo codes for each of the brands.

Woodsprite Organic Body Aromatherapy Votives – Lemon Verbena & Sauna  ($12) Each of these candles is 100% soy with a natural plant fiber wick and is scented with 100% essential oils. I love both of these fragrances! Lemon Verbena is uplifting and the Sauna blend is sort of a woodsy fall fragrance that is uplifting and invigorating in a different way, and great to inhale. A great addition to a spa day at home!

Woodsprite Organic Body Ginger Glow Warming Herbal Spa Salts ($7.43) The full size of this comes in a glass container but I loved the bag version because you just slip the whole thing right into your bath – and compost it when you’re done! These salts are going to bring back your summer glow with circulatory-enhancing herbs, warming ginger, and a great salt soak.  I have a big soaking tub so this is waiting for my next bath (along with my candles!).

Innate Organic Body Arnica & Turmeric Muscle and Joint Balm ($16) This balm is going to last you a long time! It’s more of a hard/thin balm, not greasy, and melts right in. It uses a base of sunflower oil and olive oil with natural healing properties of arnica – great for rubbing into sore muscles and joints. This particular product is used in spas (you can buy a giant 8 oz size of it but you’d never go through it). This is a really thoughtful item for this box – I liked its inclusion a lot instead of just beautifying spa treatments – it made me think the curation was really about your whole body and how it feels, not just how it looks.

Woodsprite Organic Body Ginger Glow Warming Sea Salt Glow ($6) This matches the sea salt soak above, but this is a scrub that you rub in on your dry skin, so it’s perfect for the shower. This is spicy and invigorating and uses finely milled salts so it will provide gentle, not rough, exfoliation.

Fabulous Frannies Destress Essential Oil Roll-on ($6.95) This is a fabulous pre-diluted roll-on that you can apply directly to your skin (pure essential oils should not be applied!). The essential oils are in a coconut carrier oil and this de-stressing roll-on contains grapefruit, lavender, and ylang ylang. It smells fantastic and has a great soothing and energizing quality with the combo of lavender and grapefruit.  I’m absolutely a fan of this company to begin with and this smells great and I’ll be rolling it on my temples all fall. It’s like going to Aveda without the price tag!

Fabulous Frannies 100% Pure French Lavender Essential Oil ($3.95) This is French lavender, not Bulgarian, and is the standard. If you don’t already use lavender oil (I use it to refresh sachets and my daughter’s sleep sheep!) check out the site for what other oils to blend it with and other ideas. You can also apply it to old socks and tuck it into your drawer!

Moon Valley Organics Skin Essentials Collection ($19.97) I absolutely love this brand and this is such a great set!

New Moon Melt Lotion Bar, Cleansing Body Bar in Orange Spice, & Herbal Lip Balm in Velvety Vanilla: I loved each of these! The case for the lotion bar is beautiful and after I use it up I’m definitely keeping it (it’s really nice and pretty!). Of course lotion bars to me equal travel, and it’s something I don’t have to keep in my quart size bag! The orange spice scent includes orange, clove, cedar, and paprika, with red palm oil and plantain leaf for your skin! I’m always on the hunt for a great beeswax based lip balm – it’s my favorite! This one was excellent with calendula in it (I’ve never seen that in a balm before – why not?) and is the perfect restorative lip balm (I really really really liked this lip balm!).

I loved the concept and curation of this box! The theming in terms of the prescriptions/remedies was understated and elegant but also fun, and it really expresses the extremely careful curation and thought that went into the selection of each product. Every item was extremely high quality and there was a great mix of products – no overload in one category. The scents were absolutely amazing! I love subscriptions like this as a substitute for a spa treatment. I don’t have time to go to a spa but I can pamper myself right at home every day of the season for less than one spa treatment. I do want to note that a yearly subscription to this box is a fantastic value – only $199 for the year, which is sort of a ludicrous savings.
