I was really looking forward to receiving this Fix. I am in a shopping mood this month! I had asked my stylist for cute tops, and she delivered.

Stitch Fix is a personal styling service. Your stylist will send you 5 pieces based on your profile for you to try on at home! There are no coupons for Stitch Fix but if you hit the jackpot and keep everything, you save 25% on your whole fix (read below for details).

Here’s how Stitch Fix works: fill out your style profile! This includes style, budget, what you’re looking for, and you can get as detailed as you want with the notes to your stylist. It really really does help to provide notes to what you’re seeking, and a Pinterest board if you have one! You will be charged a $20 styling fee and shipped five items to try on at home. If you keep anything your styling fee will be applied to your order, but if you don’t, you will pay the $20 fee. This is so worth it. If you keep everything you get a 25% discount, so it pays off to be specific. You will check out and get charged through your Stitch Fix account. Every box includes a set of styling cards with suggestions on how to wear the particular item. There’s usually a dressed up and dressed down version for each piece of clothing.

Market & Spruce Alan French Terry Asymmetrical Zip Cardigan ($68)

stitch fix july 2015 Alan French Terry Asymmetrical Zip Cardigan openThis one was actually pinned on my Stitch Fix board, so I was really excited to see it. alas, it looks more cute on other people. When worn open, it was ok, but you end up with a zipper down one side, and really, if I were going to wear it open, I would rather it just be designed for that.

This is pretty much exactly what I was hoping for in terms of cute tops. Alas, I don’t particularly love florals (but to be fair to my stylist, a few of the tops I pinned are florals) and this color scheme doesn’t blend well with other items in my closet.

I liked how it fit; the armholes were right, it was loose but not huge. It looks pretty cute with my white shorts.

Pixley Meryl Tulip Print Sleeveless Blouse ($54)stitch fix july 2015 IMG_0044I really liked this top. Nice thick but lightweight and soft fabric. It fit great, as well. Smaller than the Celina Split Next Blouse, but still roomy enough. Unfortunately, I didn’t like how the print was cut off by the front seam.

I am not sure if that was an error unique to the shirt I received or if it might be repeated elsewhere. If it were on a side seam, I wouldn’t care, but I couldn’t stop looking at it, and not in a good way! I left them some feedback about it.

Looking at the pictures I am remembering how much I loved this and how close I was to keeping it. It was light and fit well, with the exception of my hips. It was snug on my hips, so it didn’t hang quite right.

Well, it probably hung fine but I wanted it to be more loose. Plus I really don’t have much that matches navy and red (except for the white shorts, but they match almost everything).

Swing and a miss on this. I liked the neckline, but it was way too short for my taste, and too busy.

The fabric was stretchy and packable, and the sleeves were a good length. It was a nice purpley blue, a little lighter than it looks in the photos.

I asked for a new stylist after this fix. I really enjoy having new things show up for me to try, especially because they are so much more fun and different from the things I typically pick up when I am in a store. I still am enjoying the blazer that I got in my fix a few months ago.

Welll…. someone’s best friend did not see the pictures before these were returned, otherwise said best friend would have told you to keep the blue and red shirt!

FYI for everyone else – I also received the tulip shirt (I said hey, that’s a Jen shirt!) when I got it and the cardigan. I’ll probably skip that review and wait for the next fix to arrive 🙂

I am glad Jen finally requested a new stylist.
