Luxury Barber is a monthly men’s shaving and grooming subscription box. Every month you’ll receive at least ten samples from a variety of categories, including shaving, skin products, and body products.
The inside box is nice and sturdy and perfect for storing your goods.
Everything came nicely packed, so I felt like I was getting brand new products and not fumbling through a discount bin.
An information card gives brief details on each item including prices for the full size products.
All the items in my June Luxury Barber Box. I was impressed with the number of items, a couple of which were even full-size.
Stirling Soap Co. Almond Creme Bath Soap ($6): a standard-sized bar with a sweet almond scent. Smells really nice and has a soft, moisturizing feel to it.
Taylor of Old Bond Street Sandalwood Luxury Shaving Cream ($13): full size tube with the pleasant scent of sandalwood. This “travel tube” is rather large.
St. James of London Mandarin & Patchouli Pre-Shave Oil (full-size $25): A classier take on patchouli. This sample size is big enough for a few applications.
St. James of London Black Pepper & Lime Post-Shave Gel (full-size $35): Also good for a few uses. Has a bright, clean scent.
Voskhod Teflon Coated Razors (10 pack $5.50): Made in Russia, these are double-sided and coated in Teflon. Consider these the Ivan Drago of the razor world, to be pitted against the Patriot-ic Gillettes currently in your cabinet.
Bold For Men Dry Shave Gel (full size $16): This product works surprisingly well for when you don’t have running water available in large supply.
Brickell Men’s Products Daily Strengthening Shampoo (full size $25): This sample pack is good for a couple gatherings. Formulated to help brittle hair regain its strength.
TowelDry Paste Styler (full size $18): This is a good sub-ultra-premium styling product. good, clean-feeling texture, nice light scent, and great clay-like hold without crispiness.
Fresh Richie Cleansing Towelettes (full size $10): A full shower at the gym is becoming passé, and a quick freshen up is preferred. The full version comes in a box of individually-packed wipes for travel convenience.
Dr. Brandt Pores No More Vacuum Cleaner (full size $45): Powerful cleansing mask. This is a great item to get as a sample, as the full-size is pricier than the other items in the box.
Dominello Vitali Tea Tree & Eucalyptus Face Wash with Dead Sea Minerals (full size $19): Uses natural oils for their anti-bacterial properties. Clean and refreshing.
I thought this was a great box. It had lots of tries, and nearly all of them were good for multiple uses. The products selected had different scent profiles, so it wasn’t all lanolin and menthol. This is a good grooming “pure play,” as it doesn’t have accessories or other men’s items thrown in. I liked the range of near-economy and luxury items — they covered the ground between “use this bro” and “hand me my after shave, Jeeves.” I can’t wait to see what future boxes hold, since this one covered most of the grooming spectrum.
