Love with Food‘s theme for May is Fiesta, Fiesta! If you’re unfamiliar with this subscription, it’s a fun snack discovery subscription. We get the Deluxe box, because we have a big family and more snacks = more fun! You can get the Classic Size box half off (pay $1 shipping). You can also save $10 on your first Gluten-Free box by using this link. LWF sent a classic tasting box earlier this month for review, and you can see that one here.

As the sun shines brighter, it certainly feels like party time! Turn up the music, shed a few layers and dance the day away with these South of the Border inspired snacks. Every box purchased means a donation to food banks across the country. So you can do an extra twirl knowing that you’ve made a difference!

The information booklet contains both the ingredients for each item plus color-coded keys indicating which are non-GMO, gluten-free, and vegan!

IMG_3604

Dick and Jane Smart Snacks – English & Spanish – This is a fun lunchbox snack and my daughter especially loves them for learning some fun new words in Spanish.

IMG_3603

Beanfield’s Pico de Gallo Bean & Rice Chips – Wow, what a disappointment to get two of these instead of two of “The Better Chip” that we received in our May tasting box. Back when the Deluxe box first came out after a few crappy months I’d been assured by a LWF employee that the Deluxe box would always contain everything in the regular box. That’s no longer the case, and I find it extremely disappointing, especially as we get Beanfields constantly.

PB Thins 100 Calorie Pack – From when I first saw the spoilers I was crazy excited about these! PB Thins are from the makers of PB2 and these are little almost-cookie like crackers. They have great peanutty flavor and I totally enjoyed them. I think our family could knock back a box of them in about 5 minutes.

Home Free Mini Lemon Burst Cookies – Really bursting with great inspiring lemon flavor! We always love Home Free cookies.

IMG_3601

GoVida Dragon Fruit & Dulce de Leche – This is super unusual! It’s a snack consisting of two elements: freeze-dried dragon fruit and dulce de leche pieces. Enjoyed by all, but not too much in the bag!

Smooze All Natural Fruit Ice, Coconut & Pink Guava – The Smooze coconut fruit ice is a family fave, and we think it’s excellent to get a freezer treat in a subscription. We buy cases of them on Amazon!

IMG_3600

PopChips Sea Salt Veggie Chips – I haven’t tried these from this bag (I think they’re usually a bit salty).  I think they actually go with the Fiesta theme in their own way!

Inka Corn – Chile Picante – My husband is addicted to subscription corn snacks of any type. I can see him get all excited when he rummages through a daily haul for his evening snack, and he totally perked up over these!IMG_3598

Vintage Bee Hibiscus Creamed Honey

Go Organics Iced Mint Mango and Blood Orange Candy

We do like having new hard candies to try – especially if they’re natural and organic like these! The Hibiscus honey is fun to have, plus it has a red color from the Hibiscus. You can spread on toast, put in tea, whatever you’d like!

IMG_3425

Montana Mex Sweet Seasoning Salt – We received this salt in our gluten-free box (in fact, I just used the same photo over). I was bummed to get the same flavor, but it does look delicious and fun for adding some different flavors to foods. I’m going to be trying it on fresh fruits!

Organic Sugars, Sea Salt, Pasilla Negra Chile, Orange Peel, Allspice, Cinnamon, Aji Amarilla Chile, Organic Rice Hull, Ginger, Clove.

Bonta d’Italia Gluten Free Penne I honestly cannot fathom why a non-gluten free subscriber would be interested in GF pasta. Although it gets excellent reviews as a GF pasta, it’s still a GF pasta. We’re passing this one on to our celiac neighbor (she’s 10 and loves all the things we send her way!).

We love getting the Deluxe box for all the doubles and the special snacks, and it’s worth it to us, but I’ve been disappointed that we aren’t getting all the items in the Tasting Box in this subscription. Overall it’s definitely a better deal than the classic tasting box, but I guess you have to be willing to miss out on something in the regular box.

I’m with you on the Beanfields chips – getting far too many of those in these boxes and Urthbox, and I don’t really care for them anyway. I got the Picante salt instead of the Sweet salt you got – it has jalapeno chile, sea salt, garlic flakes, granulated garlic, cilantro, cane sugar, organic rice hull, and Mexican oregano. Sounds good to me, except for the rice hull, which just sounds like filler. While I share your husband’s love for corn snacks, I wasn’t that fond of these – prefer the regular Inka corn myself. Still an interesting box, although I’m getting tired of the wine “discount” cards all the time. I don’t drink, so it’s useless to me, and it doesn’t really look like that good a deal considering the quantity you have to buy to use it.
