ipsy may 2015 review

Another excellent bag from Ipsy for May!  This month’s theme was Jetsetter!Ipsy is a monthly beauty subscription – get 5 items in a cute bag for $10 a month! If you’re an Ipsy fan, be sure to watch for my monthly spoiler posts – I pick one reader randomly from the comments as my referral link for most of the month. Several of my past winners were able to load up on bonus items!

FYI – Sephora has some limited edition Breakups To Makeup bags if you love that bag!

St. Tropez One Night Only Instant Glow Body Lotion ($6) This comes out of the tube really quickly but really provides a tan-like glow (it’s not a self tanner). I was super happy with this! See results on my arms below!

CoTZ Face Natural SPF 40 ($4.71) CoTZ has been in all the boxes (seriously all of them – including Birchbox Man!) this month and I can not complain! I LOVE this product. It works really well with my face and protects my skin! Win all around!

From pale to nice glow!

Luxie Beauty Tapered Blending Eye Brush 205 ($12) I can never be upset about a good eyeshadow brush!

Skone Cosmetics Pretty Eyes Automatic Eyeliner in Navy ($15) This was a nice pretty color (see swatch below) and a creamy formula.

Urban Decay Revolution High-Color Lipgloss (samples)  and 24/7 Glide on Lip Pencil in Ozone ($15) I was really happy to get these lip samples, although because they’re foil packets I’m not going to value them, because they’re messy. The Lip Pencil is clear and is supposed to grab and keep color. I haven’t put it through its paces yet, but they’re now selling it in a thick version as a multipurpose primer pencil – Ultimate Ozone.  The description says you can fill in fine lines with it too. I’m going to experiment with this one!

I loved the tone of both these products! I think I’d wiped off the eyeliner but I wanted you to see the color. Although very similar to the color of the Lip Bar lipstick I received in my Boxycharm, this gloss looks great on my face. I may use the Ebates 16% cash back (today only?? it won’t last for long!) to snag a full-size!

I got the gloss/pencil set, the brush and the CoTZ stuff you got – as you know, I dislike lip gloss, and messy samples aren’t likely to change my mind, and the brush is nice but something like the 5th or 6th eye shadow brush I’ve gotten from ipsy in the last year – a blush brush would be nice for a change. As for the ozone pencil, I’ve never had a problem with lipstick bleeding – perhaps it’s a gloss problem? I tried it, but it made my lips feel like they were peeling, so not for me. The CoTZ isn’t terrible, but I just don’t use things like that. I also got an eyebrow pencil and a couple pouches of Klorane eye patches, which look interesting. The bag was the best part of this month’s package, though. On the whole, I’m about ready to drop ipsy because they simply pay no attention to either my quiz or my reviews – at least 3 of the items in my bag were things I’ve repeatedly told them I don’t use. I know it’s cheap, but it’s getting really annoying.

I bought that gloss last night! I don’t recall if we have discussed So Susan for you?? I agree with the blush brush sentiment. I cleaned out my office and organized things into boxes to go into my makeup office 🙂 and I was like omg shadow brushes! Next step is spring cleaning and putting it all away!

Some women have more problems than others with lip feathering/bleeding. I never do. What I do have is issues finding the right color! If it’s too pale, pink, or orange I can’t do it. Anyways what do you think about So Sudan?

I love the CoTZ, the gloss and the brush too!
