There are two books that will come in your Koala Crate. The first is the instructions & inspiration book. This gives an overview of all the items in the crate, the 3 primary activities, and the messiness level and required grownup assistance needed.

Every activity tells you the required materials, engagement questions to ask your child, step by step instructions, and play ideas.

Imagine! magazine is “a play and learn magazine” made for you and your preschooler to explore together. My son loves it!

There’s a fun story to help introduce your child to the theme of the box.

A movement activity and poem/story. This month had a recipe, too!

He works through the whole book before he gets to the project! He can’t read yet but he understands the games. We read the stories and poems with him.

Funny grass head. This is a cute easy craft to grow your own grass and decorate it so it looks like hair.

This was obviously hilarious!

Even though it was growing things this craft was pretty non messy – a plus for me! He loved using the included mini take to spread out his dirt.

growing plant. This craft was a bit of assembly and a bit of embellishment.  After popping out all the pieces he used the waterdropper to shape the tissue and then glued it on to the plant’s leaves.

Then it was time to build! You also had to do a bit of balancing. He was able to assemble the plant and then I slid the pieces together all the way.

We had a lot of fun with this one!

Growing Garden. The final activity was a totally adorable board book. While you read the book your child built the tower again. This was a great story and very durable. I was happy with this because it’s a “keep” item!

We had a fun time with this box like we always do with Koala Crate! There’s lots of learning and giggling and spending time with each other. It also helps my son develop independence in his activities, which I like! This crate was particularly motor skill focused but the guidance helped you discuss gardening and plants too!
