GlobeIn Artisan Gift Box is a monthly subscription box full of artisan goods from producers all over the world.  GlobeIn sources its products exclusively from non-profits, artisan collectives and other organizations that ensure a fair wage is paid to the artisans and farmers.  This subscription was recently pepped up a bit – no more variations, higher value, and I have to say that I’m really loving it.

The March GlobeIn theme is “Sustain.”

The GlobeIn box comes with a nice tri-fold full color information card. If there’s food in the box, there’s usually a recipe. The letter discusses the “Sustain” theme, nothing that every item has a shared purpose in creating a more sustainable planet.

Each box includes stories on the country of origin of each product as well as the stories of the artisans and farmers who create them.

The March box! Every GlobeIn box I have received comes packed in the outer box and everything is inside the nice leaf basket. I forgot one item in this photo (the tote, which was outside the basket!).

I love the palm leaf basket ($12) that is in every box. They’re woven by Oaxacan artisans and dyed with natural paints. I’ve been collecting these for decor in my kids’ “adventure/global” playroom.

Prana Market Tote ($5) I love this gorgeous tote and it’s high quality – more than the $5 MSRP (I never say this, and that price is too low). The bag is produced by Indian farmers utilizing intercropping techniques.

Bambu Coconut Bowl ($14) This bowl is stunning. While they are food safe, this is display quality for me. It’s so gorgeous and it also saves coconut shells from the burn pile.

Lotus Foods Volcano Rice from Vietnam ($5) This is an antioxidant-packed rice is grown in the volcanic soils of West Java, Indonesia. This is a sustainably grown blend that uses only half the water of traditional methods (which use 1/3 the world’s water!!). I believe this is in my rice cooker right now and smells delish.

Eco Lips ONE WORLD Relieve Softening Lip Balm ($6) This is a yummy smelling balm that melted in smoothly. I believe it’s made in the US but uses wild-harvested Brazil nut oil and the tube is compostable!

SweetRiot 65% Dark Chocolate Covered Cacao Nibs ($3.75) I love me some SweetRiot – it’s hard to control myself around them. SweetRiot works with the farmers to assist in soil management.

I am going to name GlobeIn the most surprising and refreshing box of the year. I’ve really been enjoying and already this box has brought several favorites for March – the bowl, the nibs, and the tote! The value of this box is right around the monthly cost without the basket – adding that back in, around $44! I’m impressed with their curation lately!
