Five Four Club is a men’s clothing monthly subscription club – sign up, pick a style profile and your sizes, and get clothes every month. My style profile is a “mix.” This subscription ships at the end of the month, and nearly always arrives in the first few days of the next month.

There are new washes for jeans, exciting. I’m way more interested in the Avengers logo.

Until recently Five Four Club was a retail brand, but now you must be a member in order to purchase clothes in their shop. I’m more than reasonably curious what might be in store April 1, or if it’s just a big joke. I’m sure we’ll hear more soon.

2 nice and normal items arrived in March’s Five Four package.

Dune Jeans ($78):  I really like the looks of these jeans.  In the past, my jean selections have been mostly dark gray or black with a rigid quality to the fabric.  In contrast this pair is soft — a classic worn cotton feel.

I like the soft blue color, it and the simple detail on the pockets (two horizontal rectangles) remind me of some 70’s jeans (sans bell-bottoms).  The tailoring is nice too.  I ordered a thirty-four, and I was able to get in them nicely despite my actually running a few sizes larger at the moment.

IMG_0429 Unfortunately, this pair has some mis-stiching along the right leg (not shown here, the other right).   Five-Four is pretty good about taking care of it when the occasional dud slips through.

Nava Shirt ($60) For some unknown reason I was sent a small (it says this on the slip, too), although my profile says medium (which is optimistic right now).

Aside from that obvious miss, I really like the look of the shirt.  Nothing too wild here; the shirt is “black”, but it is a blue-based black, so it would wear well with the jeans.

I generally really like all my clothes from Five Four Club, and they have improved significantly over the items sent out a couple years ago (much better style in my opinion). You’re promised $120 of clothing every month but realistically, these are private label clothes, so it’s more on the range of $60 of clothes. The ability to shop at special events like the exclusive Marvel Five Four Collection is really a bonus, so I’m happy to continue to subscribe. I am a bit annoyed about having to send these items back to get replacements – I’m worried they won’t have any left.
