Plated is a meal subscription service – you get the ingredients, menus, and cook everything yourself. We really enjoy Plated because it makes restaurant quality meals for us super easy! You can see multiple weeks of Plated menus in advance so I don’t post the weekly menu or anything, but I like to show off what we made. Plated has made a few changes, including becoming a subscription “only” service, but you can turn off automatic delivery and still order exactly what you want (um, I’m just not down with random food!), so basically it’s still the same. When you sign up for Plated with this link, you’ll get 2 free plates with your first order.

This is not what is coming this week – but the 2 weeks after that! Just in case you care what we eat.

Steak Gyros with Cucumber Yogurt Sauce (In my land we call that Raita) –  This was super yum and we loved the naan! It was very easy to do and I made it while my husband was doing something else entirely. I grated the cucumber on one of my fancy graters (what’s their name I don’t remember) and I loved the way it turned out! I soaked up all the extra juice with a paper towel before stirring it in (as directed by Plated!). I did think this recipe was light on the veg.

Tomato Braised Chicken with Fennel, Olives, and Couscous – I don’t know, I wasn’t a big fan of this, and I ordered it because I love olives and fennel. It had an orange in the sauce and I thought that was too much. I think the carrot was too much too. It was just too much. Maybe I was cranky that day (likely).IMG_7716

This was not my favorite Plated but even then it was still good. I am however really truly expecting great things from my Szechuan Pork this week though. 🙂

I love Plated! I’ve tried both Plated and Blue Apron, but I think I prefer Plated because it’s a little easier. Blue Apron has more unique and creative meals, but they take me longer.

hello fresh right now is not my fave (as i noted just a few months ago). i haven’t been getting HF bc i haven’t been digging their recipes. my husband dislikes that BA usually calls for matchsticking something. i find HF usually easiest to prepare, and i prefer the way they package their foods over plated. (like instead of putting things into containers, they will give you like a pack of sour cream that you’d find at a buffet or something)

i also like picking my food.
