I was honestly really excited when I opened this box. I think it is totally adorable, plus if you wanted, you could do the Doodle Crate crafts too. Because come on! Love them!

The October Doodle Crate (first one!) contained 1 project that incorporated two techniques.

  • Design two canvas pouches using a fun tape resist technique.
  • Make adorable mini pompoms for the zipper pulls.
  • Bonus! Get a cute notebook and gel pen for doodling.

My daughter finally spotted this box tonight and we’ll be making the pouches tomorrow. She immediately took the notebook and pen and filled that sucker up. She’s 5 so it’s easy to do (BTW, this box is great for younger kids if you’re willing to help).

There are step by step instructions, as well as video tutorials!IMG_6848

I love that there are extension activities (just like in Kiwi Crate’s explore! magazine) in the Doodle Crate. And um, I’m so doing that wall art.

This is likely to be the November Doodle Crate – color block candles. At first I was confused by the crayons, but they are obviously used to color the wax for the candles. I think it will be a great box and any tween or teen would totally enjoy it. This is the kind of thing I’d hand a teenager at Thanksgiving dinner and say stop looking bored and DO something! You can save $48 when you purchase a yearly subscription!
