July 2014 Taste Trunk Gourmet Box Review
I love the cute little collage or photo they put in the box lid each month, and the Taste Trunk seal!
The information cards come wrapped up like a gift, too.
There’s one for each product. I find this helpful!
Taste Trunk always packages everything so carefully.
1849 Tri-Tip Meat Marinade ($4.58) This is apparently the special secret to pre-marinated meat from butchers in the bay area! I hate fiddling with marinades and we are buying a house and moving so I can have a GRILL again, so I’m ridiculously excited about this!!
Nueva Amphora Cranberry Pear White Balsamic Vinegar ($7) So excited to get another product from this company – I just love their stuff! I prefer just vinegar and oil on my salads so I will use this right up. I’m thinking some crumbled cheese, crisp pear, and some toasted pecans!
Lazy Kettle Hickory Liquid Smoke ($5) The “standard” for all liquid smokes. Cool. This will take a lifetime to use! Dean & Deluca say to use it in ketchup. YUM!
CC Made Pistachio Nut Corn ($8) I have had this before and it’s delicious! My husband has his eye on it even though he just ate some yesterday!
CC Made Rosemary Caramel Sauce ($5) I was super curious how they did this – they infuse the rosemary in the whipping cream used to make the caramel sauce. It is absolutely perfect on a high quality vanilla ice cream! If you’re feeling profligate, sprinkle some of the popcorn on top!
As usual, this box is spot on with the purchase price of the box (not including shipping). I think that’s more than fair. Something I’ve learned is that artisan food just costs more wholesale than all other kinds of products. This is a fabulous box and we’ll use everything. In fact, we have to plan our menus for this week. What do you think I should make?
