March Taste Trunk had a cute St. Patrick’s Day/Green theme. I get the gourmet trunk! I visited the website and noticed there were a few changes. There are regular/premium trunks now (I think this one is the premium) and there are longer subscriptions available now on each of the styles. I have never changed my trunk because I like exactly what I get in it. It’s definitely my thing!  March was delicious.

Feeling lucky!

The information cards for March had a gold chocolate coin included in the package. My daughter noticed it right away and it was gone in a flash!

  • Elki Asparagus Pesto ($9.50) This thing was absolutely amazing. I didn’t expect the pesto to taste so fresh. I could eat it right out of the jar (and did). I ended up trying it with the Elki crackers but I didn’t like it covering up the taste of the cracker (see below). So I ate it on top of Shamrock ravioli. I have a terrible picture of it below! I am probably going to eat some with hummus tonight.
  • Cucina & Amore Grilled Artichoke Hearts ($3.49) These are lightly marinated, which is nice, and I loved the grilled flavor!
  • Lillie’s Q Barbecue Sauces & Rubs – Ivory  ($8.00) Much as I want to EAT ALL THE THINGS right now, I need to eat all the sauces! But I was psyched to see this regional sauce because it’s so unusual. Yes, Alabama White BBQ sauce is totally a thing and this one in particular is so creamy and sooo tangy and full of great spices. You can use it for basting (like grilled chicken) or dipping. YUM.
  • Sticky Fingers Irish Soda Bread ($5.99) I love Sticky Fingers mixes and I hope to continue to see them in Taste Trunk!  I’m going to try this one on the kids in the morning for breakfast (no, I really don’t care that it’s a dinner bread). They’ve been really adventurous this week and I’m so happy about that.
  • Elki Savory Crackers – Spring Onion ($3.50) If you knew about these, why didn’t you tell me that they made crackers that taste EXACTLY LIKE SCALLION PANCAKES. They are a little oily but it adds to the scallion-pancake-ness of these amazing crackers!

Best crackers in the world, full of scallions!

I know, terrible photo, the asparagus pesto rocked my world. ROCKED. The value of the March Gourmet Taste Trunk was a hair over $30, which was fine with me. One thing I’ve learned over the past year is that food boxes have the smallest margins and I’m pretty happy getting what I paid for it, even if I do have to pay shipping. Especially if I get amazing food. Soooo happy with this month, I think it’s my fave Taste Trunk ever!
