I just signed up for a trial pack ($5.95 shipping for both) of baby & home essentials from Jessica Alba’s Honest Company service. Quite honestly (haha) this is one of the priciest subscription services I’ve seen, but I’m very interested in the products. Even if I had a car, I don’t necessarily have the time to go out and do all the shopping I need to do every week in a large metropolitan area, which requires dragging my kids out, or me going out alone while our nanny is here, which means less time with the kids.
The diapers trial pack comes with a week’s worth of diapers and wipes, and the family essentials pack comes with shampoo, lotion, hand soap, laundry detergent (HE friendly, I checked!), and balm (for diapers and general skin usage both).
Within a week of receiving the Discovery Kit you’re enrolled as a member and charged $79.95 plus $5.95 s+h for your monthly supply of Diapers or or $35.95 plus $5.95 s+h for the monthly Family Essentials kit (or both!). If you order BOTH kits shipping is totally free.
The diapers are 100%, non-toxic, chlorine-free, sustainable, & plant-based materials and the bath/skin and cleaning products are non-toxic. This is super appealing to me because I always feel like I can do better about exposing my children to less chemicals.
The Family Essentials kit is customizable – you choose 5 products from the entire line, which includes sanitizer, bug spray, and sunscreen. Those products don’t come in the trial pack and I definitely want to check them out (it’s snowy outside but SUMMER IS COMING), so I suspect that I will get at least one more package from this line. I am looking forward to getting my trials from Honest Company. It’s definitely not the cheapest choice around for these products but you get what you pay for. I think it’s at least worth the 5.95 to check out the products to see if they’re right for your family.
One note – the wipes don’t necessarily come with the Diaper Bundle – it’s a 1 month supply of wipes with the diapers for the life of your membership promo.
